The Phoenix flies far above on powerful wings wide as a condor. Its forward-facing predatory eyes sharp, shrewd, always scanning the world from its lofty haven, searching for a purpose to fulfill, compassion, and healing its guiding mission. Plumage colored in orange-reds, yellows, and blues accented with living tongues of flame swirling along the feathered edges as it moves. Its existence of living in the moment exemplifies true freedom. Yet its regal bearing embraces gratitude for the simplistic graciousness of life. The word resplendent was man’s first inadequate attempt to describe the bird’s ethereal beauty. The uninitiated might say ‘look what an oddly colored peacock’, until faced with the bird's wise gaze which turned those thoughts inward and revealed its true magic. A man having seen the magnificent animal close enough to touch bound his eyes, tears remained on his cheeks, because he surely knew he would never see another sight more exquisite.
