About this ebook

The Twelve Gods are exiled
but someone is scheming to rule in their place...

Theo is a very special boy, in fact, he is more than just a boy; he is a demigod with amazing powers. After returning home one evening, he finds two strangers talking to his parents: "The boy is our only hope" the man in black said, "he is the only one who can summon the Twelve and save the world of the mortals from enslavement and destruction".
Theo sets off on a quest to restore order and stop the evil Daemon gods from taking over the world of men. In his journey he must overcome the dangers and difficulties with bravery and wisdom, if he wishes to complete the Three Trials successfully and become a Champion of the Gods. Thankfully he is not alone; his brave young Guardians accompany him in a search of six Divine Keys that have the power to unlock the Seals that keep the Twelve Gods exiled in another dimension.
Adventure, magic, friendship and mystery are some of the elements of this great read that can only be compared to the magnitude of the Harry Potter series and the originality of Percy Jackson

Introduction

The young woman was walking hastily under the great and exceptionally ancient white arches; her leather sandals creaking on the cold marble floor, decorated with complicated ornaments and carved battling figures. It was late, she knew it was late but she only hoped it wasn’t too late for her own sake and for the sake of the other Guardians, and for the whole world. They have always been worried that something like this might happen, but no one expected - or rather no one hoped - it would happen now; they were not ready. It was almost as if someone knew how unprepared they were and set things in motion. But that could not be true, it was absurd. Each and every one of the Guardians was selected very carefully and they trusted each other with more than their lives. So she put that disturbing thought aside and kept on pacing even faster. Right ahead the hall forked in two smaller ones, the one on the left led to the lower floors and the other one led up to the View of the World. She took the one to the right. It felt so strange walking in this vast building and meeting, not even a soul, it was empty. How did they manage to lose so many of their allies? Maybe they were not worthy to be entrusted with such an important mission. She could not fail the Twelve this way; she could not fail her father like this, not after what he did for her. She reached the high stairs and practically flew over them; it was one of her gifts. She saw him there, at the edge of the balcony, his face looking down the View of the World, his hands behind his back. Now that she was finally here it felt almost impossible to announce the terrible news.  He turned around, his mantle brushing the marble floor.

I sensed you coming, he said looking directly into her eyes; that was one of his gifts. His stare was dark blue, dark as the stormy ocean and it looked even bluer under his thick white eyebrows and the bushy gray beard. What is the matter, child?

Savant she started lowering her head we had the most disturbing word from the Graces... The Scrolls of Doom have been stolen and the Keeper is nowhere to be found.

The old man was taken aback and left mouth- gabbed, he brought his hand to his chest and rubbed his tunic with his fist like he was trying to rip it off his skin. His breathing became heavy and tired and he started walking slowly towards the Titan steps under the Great Throne. The young woman followed him rather alarmed; she had never seen him react like this during the countless years she had known him. The old man sat on one of the steps and rested his hands on his knees.

These are truly most disturbing news and never could they be more unwelcome than in a time like this. When did this happen?

It cannot be more than four hours past, Savant; perhaps even less. The Graces informed us at once when they realized the Scrolls were gone... I am afraid I have more unsettling reports still, though. None of the divine alarms were triggered, Savant...

The old man, this time, was more than shocked, he actually looked terrified.

Do you mean to tell me that the person responsible for this monstrosity was not one of the kin of the Gods?

No Savant it could not have been she knew very well what that meant. No human could enter the Chamber of The Champions where the Scrolls were safely kept without perishing, and no Godchild was allowed to enter without setting the divine alarm off, without being captured by the Power of the Twelve, paralyzed and numbed. That could mean only one thing... The other side has a Champion of the Gods... she admitted. Even the thought of such a thing was troubling. Could there, in fact, be a traitor amongst the Order?

That is an abomination, a lack of respect of the natural order. The vengeance Daemons must know of this at once, search the Order’s feelings and consciousness and punish the wicked for their monstrosity exploded the old man.

As you wish Savant, I shall send for them immediately. But what are we to do? Time is of the essence, every minute we let pass brings the world of men closer to Chaos...

I am a son of Cronus; you think I know not of the importance of time child? The old man was staring at the woman with piercing eyes of fire. She lowered her head once more; the Savant was wise and calm, but he did not like to be questioned in any way. He raised his hands and brought them close to one another, as if getting ready to applaud, but instead his palms produced a swirling light blue energy ball that seemed ready to explode. Gather them all he whispered to the energy ball and let it escape his grasp with an unimaginable speed. The council must meet first thing in the morning, and then we can discuss what must be done

Savant, please do not take me for someone who does not know respect, but it is clear what needs to be done –

Ha! He is the most arrogant, selfish, unworthy, disrespectful and, pardon me for saying, a terribly silly candidate! I will not jeopardize the future of the whole world just by putting all my trust in a boy like his kind

We have less than a month before the anniversaries of Uranus and Gaia... I need not tell you how the power of the divine flows from the center of the cosmos that day. The Twelve are in grave danger and the enemy is already moving. You remember how it was before; you want the same fate to torture this generation also? He is the sole hope we have right now and we must trust in this hope, I must believe in him

Then perhaps you are also a fool... he snapped rather bluntly. His power is a mere coincidence...

Maybe I am a fool, but apart from his light no other has shown as bright so far, thus if we do not trust in him then we might just as well give up and surrender ourselves to the darkness that is undoubtedly coming. And you know perfectly well that coincidence has little to do in a situation like this. How many humans do you know through all the centuries with Immortal blood running through both their families? Only our kin, only we have Immortal blood... She did not speak anything more. She had already said more than she meant to.

The old man gave her a poisonous look but did not say a word. She knew how the Savant felt about the boy, he had been monitoring him for some time now and the teenager seemed rather reckless and superficial, not what someone would call Champion of the Gods material. After a few long minutes of silence and inner struggle the old man spoke.

Will you be able to locate him?

The woman closed her eyes and thought of the boy. Billions of voices and faces passed before her, speaking in thousands of tongues and dialects she had been blessed to understand. She had glimpses of thoughts; she could see and listen to mortal minds; sweet, nice, thoughts of love and angry thoughts of hate, pure and evil thoughts and even some thoughts too dark to ignore. Focus she urged herself. The young woman found his light. There were many lights out there but his was the brightest among the humans, and his mind was not as easy to reach.

I found him

Good. He is to be brought to us the sooner possible. If as you say you put your trust in him he should be brought to us by tomorrow

I do, and so should you and the rest of the Council. He is our only chance against them. I will send the guard for him. We need him now

Shadows

The rest of the Daemons were already there when he arrived in the underground temple. He did not expect it, but a lot more followers of their cause had shown up for the meeting; that was a good sign. This time, they truly had a chance of accomplishing their noble work. Too long they had been waiting for this moment, too long they had been hiding in the shadows. It was their birthright and no one would deny it of them anymore. The time of being treated like servants was soon to be over, they were all children of Gods, he was a child of Gods and he demanded to be treated as one.

Welcome, late as usual I see... said a man hidden under a golden cloak, sitting on the head of the big marble table that was placed in the center of the chamber. His wide smile did not agree with his eyes; they were empty and cold, ready to devour the latecomer but the hood of his cloak hid his annoyance.

I am late for a reason and the reason is good my brothers

Do not speak in riddles, it does not suit you... added the man standing to the right side of the man in the golden clothing.

Everyone was wearing cloaks, noticed the newcomer; the greatest part of their heads hiding still, even now after all that they have accomplished they hid themselves like they were mere criminals, ashamed of what they were doing.

Brothers he raised his voice for many centuries we have been waiting for that one chance to rise and show our fathers the power we have inherited like they did before us. But they chose to abandon this world and lock themselves in a box... A box! The creators of men decided to withdraw like a bunch of cowards... Many of the hooded figures stirred nervously. "They claimed it was time for them to stop controlling the world, and we were instructed to do likewise. They decided to abandon the people because they caused the mortals pain and suffering and death. So what? This is their birthright, they have absolute power over their creations, however, they cannot control us, they cannot decide for us and for our fate.

They ruled the world for thousands of years and made innumerous mistakes,
