INTRODUCTION
It is a sunny fall day at a neighborhood playing field. Girls run back and forth. Parents stand on the sideline cheering. There is a goal at each end of the field. The girls toss a small ball to each other. One player runs toward the goal. She flings the ball at the cage with her stick. It’s a good shot, but the goalie catches it. Girls shout encouraging words to their teammates. Instead of giving high fives, they click their sticks together. This is a game of girls’ lacrosse.
Taylor Cummings started playing lacrosse when she was around 6 years old. Taylor was named the best college athlete in the United States in 2016 and was chosen as a member of the U.S. Lacrosse Team. She was also one of the first members of the first professional women’s
