Love is maddening. Love is special. Love is everything. I realized that I was unaware of the intensity of this claim until I read "Stages of Love" by Bhoomika Dekate.
This book written by the author over a course of a long time in her life is a perfect archetype of how a lover (someone having a crush) journeys through different stages of love. Each and every word is overcharged with emotions which simply pulls you into itself and grips you so strong that it is hard for you to put the book down. This book unleashes within you strong emotions which can even carry you away.
The best part was when the book throws big questions at you which awaken the "sweet fantasy" of love inside you and are enough to keep you hooked for hours. Other than this, I love how the writer talks about small mundane things and mentions the emotional journey of each lover through small mundane things (i.e. Whatsapp chat). Other than this, the structure of the book is very well arranged. It actually feels like going on to a journey in time with the author.
Right when I finished the book, I had an ambivalent phase where I felt pity for the author because her sweet fantasy of love could not actually ever happen, although right at the same time when I felt as if the author was celebrating this very fact, it makes you appreciate the celebratory nature of these "phases of love" and makes you realize that this "sweet fantasy" love is something to be celebrated even it does not end successfully. It makes you unsure whether to feel good or bad for the author, which is something which adds to the beauty of the experience of reading this book.
Lastly, this book speaks for itself that a lot of strong felt moments over the course of many years have gone into writing it and given that it can clearly express and make the readers feel all those stages of love is no less than magic, according to me.
