    Lady Ina - Saya Nao

    Chapter One

Silent echoes murmured behind the distant trees that laid in hibernation for the next spring. Firm ice cubes attached to each tree as the branches reached high as the cloudy sky overtook the falling snowflakes that traveled to the forest floor. The endless sky of clouds ragged a storm as the snow fell to the ground barren of new life. Large cottonwoods, alders, firs, and larch trees carried over the forest to the mountainside as the snow continued to lay to the ground where it reached multiple inches each hour. The winds blustered across the landscape as the mid-winter continued, for the yielding of life before the spring to give life. No shadows were there as the forest floor was forgotten of what was underneath to begin, yet a mist formed from the north and elongated dress of silvery pale that glistened as each snowflake fell from the turbulent storm. A pack of wolves with cinder-caramel and dark chocolate roamed as they saw the mist. The wolves glanced the dress realizing who was and stilled.

The figure continued to move with the mist upon revealing a strapless bodice following into a full dress. A silvery pale choker bows with a ruffle matching the design, and as an emblem shined like pearls as the snow continued. In the distance, bomb fires were visible as the smoke was seen for miles. A tall young man with long chestnut hair and pale skin with an athletic build in fur clothes stood on a large tower while scouting as the snow fell. His hazel eyes glanced in the direction then gasped as he saw what he thought it was. As the mist continued to flow around the figure revealing petite curves, skin pale as moonlight, wearing long dangly sapphire diamond earrings and ashen-mint colored lips adorned the oval face. He blinked his eyes for it was a sign of what he saw, but thought it was a myth. Her eyes caught his attention to reveal an arctic ocean blue that was endless.

A tall fan-like headdress connected to the choker in two layers behind the figure’s head and around to the face. The figure revealed to be a woman wearing a diamond-pearl tiara on her silver-starlight updo hairstyle pulled back. The man gradually turned and pulled on his leather boots more to walk down to the makeshift ladder. He rapidly went down the ladder. He stopped and stared back at the bomb fires with fiery smoke then ran to see what he had seen. Snowflakes flourished behind her and evaporated as the mist continued around her. She continued to glide on the mist, yet continued mystery for she was the Snow Maiden. The winters ran cold as she appeared through the forest wondering on a stroll.

The Snow Maiden continued to glide, yet the storm lightened as she moved. The man heard howls in the distance and ran toward it as he hid behind a tree to see the myth that only heard in stories. He gasped upon seeing from a fair distance to see the long icicle eyelashes
