About this ebook
At the beginning of the book, I'm going to walk you through my process and the strategies I employed when I taught and the techniques that I used to become super successful. As we move through the content, we're going to move into more advanced concepts. Many of the concepts that I'm going to share with you are pretty simple and straightforward. My goal and purpose are to get you from a new teacher to a seasoned teacher within six to eight months. So I'm going to run through some concepts that will spring load your teaching career. Are you ready?
One of the methods that you will use to accomplish this goal is to integrate technology into your instruction. I'm going to give you a few tips and tricks that I've used in the past to keep my students engaged. Technology creates a new environment where everyone is learning and firing on all cylinders. Here are some of the ideas that I'm going to cover: 1. I'm going to show you my super simple teaching process. I'm going to walk you through some of what a lesson should have and what it should include and ways to reach your students. Again, these are processes that I've used in the past and I've found them to be effective. 2. You'll discover why your dream for your students must be your driving force. What this means is you, as a teacher, are like a beacon of light. You're a beacon of hope. Welcome to your classroom and believe it or not, for many of your students, your classroom will be a bright spot in their lives.

About the Author
Hello, my name is Dean Johnson, and welcome to Am I Doing Enough: If You Could Talk to Yourself Before Your 1st Year Teaching. Let me tell you a little about this book and about what qualifies me to deliver this content to you. I've taught in the Baltimore Public school system for roughly 10 years. During that time, I taught at two different high schools, which actually turned out to be rival schools. During my time at BCPS, I was both a social studies and special teacher. I held dual certifications in both disciplines. When I'm not teaching or coaching and helping people, I mainly hang out with my daughter. Her name is Summer, and one of the things that we enjoy doing is go kart racing. During my time as a teacher, I was tenured at both schools. I was invited to come back every year, and I worked with and trained other young teachers. That's the purpose of this book. This book is to get you geared up as a new teacher so when you are evaluated, during your pre and post observations, you'll be confident and assured. Ultimately, I want to bring you success. I hope that you're excited. I'm excited and honored to bring this information to you and to get you on the road to success.
