About this ebook

Not just "pigment" or "color," melanin is an aromatic bio-polymer and organic semiconductor presently worth over $380 a gram more than gold. CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, BBC, Aljazeera, RT, BET, Ebony, JET, The New York Times or The Washington Post among other media outlets seem incapable of ever even mentioning that fact. What else is it they don't know? Is it possible a new era has begun with melanin being worth more than gold and people who claim to be the source of all knowledge missed the boat? The easily verifiable facts found in "Melanin Is Worth More Than Gold" trace the path from melanin being observed as worth more than gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium combined to an undeniable conclusion: a shift in power is underway. Your guide can be only one man: Nnamdi Azikiwe. Who else knows how the lynching of 148 Black women in America revealed the mind-altering fact melanin is worth more than gold? How the connection is made between the 100th anniversary of the Red, Black and Green colors of Africans at home and abroad, melanin having a dollar value and the potential for the Afro (official currency of the African Union or United States of Africa) to be worth over 2 1⁄2 times the U.S. dollar it becomes clear "a change has come." A different perspective from the one presented elsewhere shows the boundaries of might are falling amid an awakening taking place as you read this.

    INTRODUCTION

Astonishing, but true, melanin is worth more than gold. Not only that, we approach the second century of Red, Black and Green, the flag of Africans at home and abroad on August 13, 2020. Additionally, the Afro, official currency of the United States of Africa, or the African Union, is worth over $2. Those are the primary reasons to proclaim we are in the era of the blessed generation.

"If it’s not written down it didn’t happen."

Some time has passed since those words first reached this correspondent. As of the present moment they stick. It really comes down to freedom. Freedom to record for posterity what happened, where it happened, when it happened, how it happened, why it happened, and who was witnessed the happening. A freedom which Marcus Garvey informed us was possible in a speech entitled The Work That Has Been Done:

We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery; for though others may free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind. Mind is our only ruler; sovereign.

Most who know those words encountered them as a result of Bob Marley adding the quality of lyricism to paraphrase Garvey’s words through music in Redemption Song.

Dr. Martin Luther King has informed us on several occasions freedom is a state of mind. One instance of which took place just one day before what would have been first Universal Negro Improvement Association (U.N.I.A.) President General Marcus Garvey’s eightieth birthday. It was also over two years after King laid a wreath at Garvey’s shrine in Kingston, Jamaica. On that occasion King proclaimed Garvey the first to give Black people a sense of dignity and destiny, and make the Negro feel that he was somebody. When he spoke of freedom King said:

"Psychological freedom, a firm sense of self-esteem, is the most powerful weapon against the long night of physical slavery."

Mental emancipation or psychological freedom is nothing until it expresses itself with new, fresh original ideas. Here we present such boldness of thought.

Envisage a point in time when every single human being on this planet is totally, completely, free. When that day comes, we could be said to have ushered in an era when all the generations of humanity can be called blessed. It could be the day when everyone knows our physical appearance is primarily due to a chemical known as melanin and that chemical is worth more than gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium and coltan…COMBINED!!! Would current perceptions of phenomena persist in such an environment? Since we know melanin is worth more than gold, all we must do is share that simple truth for Maat, a state of peace, justice, righteousness, order, balance, harmony and reciprocity to prevail. Telling the truth is a pathway to the freedom we desire.

Anyone undertaking the need to grade this book on style, diction and literary excellence should look elsewhere for the next medal to pin on their chest. No one need tell the language shortcomings that may be found here. It is not the claim of this writer to be an expert at literature production, yet. You are reading little more than the best effort at chronicling an experience, so that it is written down and others know what happened. We also intend bringing clarity where others prefer concealment through deception, inveigling, and obfuscation.

This book started life as a simple post entitled Melanin is worth $353 a gram on the Keyamsha the Awakening blog in June 2014. After a few years that post morphed into the idea an entire book was needed about melanin being worth more than gold. The book idea became more urgent when a Melanin Twitter bomb was launched against African American women, and people of African ancestry in general during March 2017. Before then the blog was little more than an impersonal, objective collection of information chronicling a perceived awakening taking place among people of African ancestry worldwide. Keyamsha the Awakening became more personal, and subjective after certain unknown subjects attempted to misuse information posted on the blog for the Melanin Twitter Bomb. That effort to impose upon people of African ancestry what amounted to a spiritual, emotional and psychological warfare campaign placed a burden on yours truly to remedy the situation. The attempt to weaponize melanin having a value more than gold against people with high levels of melanin in their skin imposed a responsibility to undo any damage the misused information may have caused.

After reading Nina Amir describe her success in blogging a book in The Writer’s Toolkit, the possibility occurred this book had already been written via Keyamsha the Awakening. A few drafts later it became clear, the book needed was not quite complete. Those drafts revealed a great deal of work remained to produce the solution to a problem that should never have existed in the first place. Questions such as the following needed answers:

    • How did I learn about melanin?

    • What led to the discovery melanin was worth more than gold?

    • Who brought about the idea melanin is worth more than gold?

    • Where was this discovery made?

    • How was it revealed melanin is worth more than gold?

    • When was melanin discovered to be worth more than gold?

    • How did people respond after the observation melanin is worth more than gold?

Those questions led to realization a whole chapter was needed just to explain the circumstances under which the observation melanin is worth more than gold took place.

Every well-formed question is pregnant with its own answer. As such, each chapter herein has a question as its title. Content in the chapters attempt to provide a response to its title question with sections, images, paragraphs and words. Through those questions we encourage, you, the reader, to think for yourself. Separate fact from fiction. Let go of limitations. Become aware there is an awareness beyond the present state of awareness. Make your own determined effort to arrive at the truth about melanin and how it relates to the wider world around us.

At one time, no one would have taken seriously the claim publishing a post to a blog would open the floodgates to an entire universe of conspiracy theories, hoaxes, myths and urban legends. Along the way, everything which had been previously believed about the world changed. Upon entering the second chapter, we clearly are following a path strewn with misinformation and disinformation related to melanin.

Others continued attempting to convey the idea melanin thieves were harvesting melanin from people with high levels of melanin in their skin. The alleged motivation was to provide people with low levels of melanin in their skin additional melanin. Apparently, they needed to supplement their own melanin levels by injecting it in themselves for some perceived benefit.

In order to have a clear view beyond the illusion of melanin thieves, more information was needed. Little interest was found in the highly intelligent common cuttlefish, Sepia Officinalis, from whose ink melanin being sold is harvested.

By August 2015 it had been just over a year since melanin was first observed to be worth more than gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium and coltan combined. Preparations were being made to celebrate the ninety-fifth year since Marcus Garvey and the twenty-thousand delegates of the U.N.I.A. consecrated Red, Black and Green as our flag, the flag of the United States of Africa. Those preparations uncovered a connection between the RBG (Red, Black and Green) and Dr. Martin Luther King. Knowing several links between King and Garvey have been overlooked for decades came at a time when we needed them the most. The revelations rendered information about melanin that much more compelling as an element of unification.

The value of melanin increased in 2016. By the end of the third chapter it became clear an ongoing campaign of false and biased information about the world we live in is underway. Because of that we must always verify what we are being told. As the Melanin Harvesting Urban Legend began being deconstructed, further truths grew from its ashes. We began to see the possibility of dry bones waking up. Other allusions made melanin being worth more than gold take on connotations of a shift of biblical proportions. Perceiving a connection between Garvey and the Harmonic Convergence put together the idea a Melanin Convergence is in the not too far distant future.

Dr. Welsing repeatedly informed us a system of white supremacy exists. We now see it has a system based on lies. How long could a system based on lies survive when bombarded with new grammar? The new grammar coming from melanin being worth more than gold renders old rhetoric dysfunctional. Our new vocabulary must necessarily replace the present outmoded system with a global system of MAAT (justice) aimed at benefiting everyone. Perceiving phenomena from the melanin-centered view, we retrieve our power from those who ungratefully claimed it as theirs.

People who sought to use news of Missing D.C. Girls as a launchpad for their Melanin Twitter Bomb in March 2017 failed miserably. However, they succeeded in uncovering their melanin envy. We dub the culprits in that endeavor Melanin Deniers. Campaigns of terror by such people are nothing new. Their actions revealed how weak and powerless those behind it are in the face of melanin being worth more than gold. If they and the people who think like them truly believe this world was supposed to be the way they want it to be, all they would have to do is tell the truth. Melanin being worth more than gold would not change a thing under such conditions. In addition to exposing the value of melanin as their weakness, Melanin Deniers simultaneously exposed melanin awareness as a growth opportunity and a strength. Strength comes to us from melanin being worth more than gold. It is opposed to the overwhelming sense of loss resulting from the unsustainable idea of whiteness. The force of the idea melanin has value greater than gold was demonstrated simply by spreading knowledge of it. After getting a reaction from those who see melanin being worth more than gold as a threat, the magnitude of that force increased dramatically. That force created a tipping point leading to even more change in the minds of those opposed to the idea melanin is worth more than gold. From there, a Melanin Swan, the unpredictable improbability of melanin being worth more than gold, made itself known. The Melanin values we have acquired are not rooted in melanin magic, but melanin science. Moreover, the Melanin Twitter Bomb produced the opposite effect it’s perpetrators apparently intended. Their actions attracted a deluge of visitors to Keyamsha the Awakening. The flood of thoughts the Melanin Twitter Bomb may have triggered in our newly expanded audience is an entirely different thing all together. If there is Melanin Denial, there is potential for scientific misconduct and disregard syndrome in the field of melanin studies. Addressing behavior of that nature makes it necessary we face all aspects of our story, especially when it comes to the image presented of Melanin People by others. The story of melanin being worth more than gold is unlike any other to date.

Simply spreading information regarding melanin caused melanin myths to collapse under their own weakness. Likewise, melanin facts indicate new heights to which we must necessarily rise. Ironically, melanin myths turned Melanin Theory into a launchpad from which to propel melanin facts. Despite efforts to the contrary, melanin awareness continues soaring. Not speaking about melanin and not becoming highly knowledgeable about it does nothing to prevent a catastrophic systems failure of the Melanin Challenged Inferiority Complex covered in Chapter 3.

Under current conditions we are awakening mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically along a path of rapidly spreading truth. In calling this awakening, Keyamsha (from the Swahili word Kiamsha.) We gain agency to impact the next phase of human development after the Maafa or Great Disaster. We know this awakening is happening simply by virtue of what you have read so far. Those words are augmented by many people of African ancestry in the diaspora who are and have made Sankofa to the mother continent. Focusing our attention on healing, we see and understand the wisdom of Ubuntu as (soul) force made manifest. We experience Mchakato Wa Uponyaji (Swahili for the process of healing) despite how things may seem. Applying hekau, the ancient Kemetic term for words of power, healing embraces seekers of healing. The power shift begun at the quantum level when it became apparent melanin is worth more than gold becomes visible to the naked eye as healing increases.

Potent energy at the quantum level, the level where all healing begins, drives the awakening. The sacred divine force of NTU focuses the vision of a free, redeemed and independent Africa, in a state known as African Redemption. The inevitable second century of melanin putting the B in RBG and the Black in Red, Black and Green rapidly approaches. Melanin being worth more than gold, invokes the strength of our intellect as we are celebrating World Melanin Day August 13th. That day we engage in disseminating all we know about melanin. Special emphasis is placed on its dollar value. Our mannerisms demonstrate the behavior of mentally emancipated people. Our growth mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically becomes radiantly self-evident. Millions of people worldwide joyfully and gratefully unleash themselves in displaying Red, Black and Green on August 13. The day Red, Black and Green was presented to the world has become cause for worldwide celebration. More attention is due to the melanin factor. RBG being melanin-centered in an era when melanin is worth more than gold, is peerless as the unifying symbol of the sovereign United States of Africa and Africans, at home and abroad. In this manner, we enter a permanent state of Ubuntu. Captivated by seeing the sacred divine force, NTU, which permeates all phenomena in each other fortifies us speaking a planet working for everyone into existence. This comes to pass as we Project Our Will for Eternal Revitalization. Audaciously projecting our revitalized selves is the foundation for the Ubuntu age. The era called for in the U.N.I.A. constitution when all the generations of humanity are called blessed commences with effortless ease.

The final chapter of this book begins with the introduction of One Bright Day. The vision imposed itself upon us May 2, 2002 at the Hotel Ghion in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. What happened left yours truly totally speechless. Seventeen years passed before the events that day were shared with anyone else. One Bright Day may happen at any moment. Picturing it as August 13, 2020, the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Rights of the Negro People of the World, birth certificate of the Red, Black and Green flag is inspiring. On that day, by choosing to do so, our efforts trigger every single human being on this planet to know melanin is a chemical in human hair, skin and eyes. Our actions deliberately and intentionally create a world population knowing melanin puts the B in RBG and the Black in Red, Black and Green. That day everyone worldwide internalizes awareness our blood, our melanin, and Africa unite us. At that moment we will live on a totally different planet, a planet working for everyone. That day we become overcome with awareness melanin is worth more than gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium and coltan combined. The Melanin Convergence lifted all boats not firmly anchored to the bottom. Our entire species rose with the tide of mindfulness to majestic heights having met physical force with soul force. The power of conviction made that day inevitable.

I saw one bright day. It was a day when the poor become comfortable, the sick are healed, the blind gained sight, the weak in mind became clearheaded, and deserts turned to lush forests. MAAT reigns supreme. It has since come to me that bright day took place only one-hundred years and twelve days after the First International U.N.I.A. convention got underway on August 1, 1920.

That epic plebiscite consisted of U.N.I.A. delegates meeting night and day. It is incumbent upon us to revisit the influence of that day. When we give testimony, sing songs, make speeches, and pray echoing the 1920 U.N.I.A. convention a new era begins. We have all the knowledge, skills and ability to emulate them. We have all we need to enshrine August 13 with immortality. The Afro, official currency of the United States of Africa is worth over $2. The flag of the Sovereign United States of Africa celebrates its 100th anniversary that day. Melanin is worth more than gold. We know ourselves now better than at any time in the past three-hundred thousand years. Our next act is to merely will ourselves into reviving the U.N.I.A. with twelve million card-carrying dues-paying members by August 13.

Under those conditions the African Redemption 2020 plebiscite must produce the Declaration of Ubuntu. Part of the Declaration proclaims the United States of Kemet (formerly known as the United States of Africa.) Its Red, Black and Green flag flies all over the continent and throughout the Kemetic diaspora. At its launch the currency of the United States of Kemet has value between $2.20 to $3. When the chair of the Ubuntu plebiscite is interviewed on television, the interview is broadcast worldwide. Speculators drive the value of the KMT currency above $5. A global state of equilibrium ensues. In the span of six to eight hours people observe the restored Songhai Forest where the Sahara Desert was once positioned. We define a true melanin theory. The theory gives rise to a journal documenting the world perceived from a melanin centered view. Construction of the Institute for Melanin Research is completed. Erection of the melanin museum concludes, as well. Melanin songs reinforce the iconic view of melanin symbolizing wealth, value, prosperity and abundance. They restore balance as opposed to the coon songs of another era, one of which contributed to the creation of the Red, Black and Green flag. An entire industry of filmmaking invoking melanin as subject matter and topic of discussion manifests upon completion of the documentary Melanin Is Worth More Than Gold presenting the contents of this book to an audience which would not otherwise have encountered it.

    Prologue

It had been nearly nine months since arriving in Nigeria on September 10, 2001. The fateful events taking place the following day in Washington, New York and Pennsylvania changed things in ways yet to be appreciated.

That Sunday, late April 2002, at Bole Airport in Addis Ababa, the boarding agent declared, because of new regulations, any airline allowing passengers to enter the USA without adequate identification will be fined $35,000 or so. My passport would need to be verified the next day at the U.S. Embassy.

The lamination on my passport’s identification page had detached while in Nigeria. Maybe that’s the price for jumping into the Atlantic Ocean fully dressed in Lomé, Togo with it in my pocket. I could blame Ezigbo Nwunyem (Igbo for trophy wife.) But then, who could resist seeing a grown woman playing in the ocean for the first time like a little girl? I had to join her.

Needing my passport to be verified by the U.S. Embassy in Addis meant delay. The next flight would not leave for the U.S. until the following Sunday because, Ethiopian Airlines only had one weekly flight to the U.S., at that time. Ezigbo Nwunyem was still in Nigeria. Unbeknownst to us at that moment she was pregnant with our first child.

Those were the circumstances placing me all alone Thursday morning May 2, 2002 in Addis Ababa’s Hotel Ghion.

Built by Haile Selassie, it is named after a river in Ethiopia, also, one of the three rivers in the Biblical Garden of Eden. Just south of Selassie’s palace, the hotel seems like a far-off place, being almost hidden from the center of the city and its nearby Meskel Square. Entering the hotel’s gates, leaves the impression somehow a wrong turn has been made, allowing guests to enter a lush countryside. The rolling landscape, seems like a retreat, surrounded by the very place from which one seeks refuge.

The previous three days were pleasant and mostly breezed by. After all, Ethiopian Airlines was picking up the tab for the hotel stay, meals included.

    But I had no plans.

The bungalow where I resided is one of several in the rear of the building. It was much larger than the one occupied during a previous transit stop. Having had breakfast that morning, bored, sitting before the television flipping through the channels, an experience soon to be known as One Bright Day was about to descend upon me.

Stopping the channel flip, we came upon the Voice of America. Being interviewed was an African American man. His name is Malik Chaka. At the time he was a Congressional Aide for a U.S. Congressman. Mr. Chaka was being interviewed on Economic Opportunities in Africa for African Americans.

Excited at the prospect of a worthwhile distraction, out came the notebook and pen, eagerly preparing to document whatever information Mr. Chaka provided. Dutifully, the date May 2, 2002 and the place Ethiopia were noted on the page. What was written after that had nothing to do with Economic Opportunities for African Americans in Africa. What did Mr. Chaka say that day? Who knows? How much time passed? I cannot say. What was
