Pearls Tales - Robert A Webster
Jasmine and William’s Enchanted Adventure
Chapter One
Here’s your cocoas kids, take them up to Gran's room she wants to tell you a story,
said their mum, who smirked before handing Jasmine and her brother William, each a hot mug of cocoa. And don’t take your phones up, this is important.
C:\Users\ACER\Desktop\_1551078705.64985_460.png C:\Users\ACER\Desktop\_1551078838.72833_868.png
The children, trying not to spill their cocoa, went upstairs to their Grandmothers room.
Hello kids, please sit down,
said Gran sat on her armchair, and the kids went and sat on the sofa.
The pair looked confused, normally when their grandmother told them a story she read from a book, this time she just smiled, rubbed her gold dolphin amulet around her neck and said. Do you remember how I said that one day I would give you one of these?
The kids nodded, smiled, and felt excited, they had always wondered when Gran would give them a dolphin amulet like the one she wore, and that their mother and uncle wore.
These are not just jewellery and you must wear them at all times and give them to your children and grandchildren when their time comes.
The kids chuckled when Gran hands them each a red velvet box and they took out gold dolphin amulets on gold chains, hung them around their necks as Gran sat in her armchair, and smiled.
The kids chuckled and looked at the shiny amulets as their Grandmother sips her cocoa and then points up at the skylight C:\Users\ACER\Desktop\dolphinam.png . "Tonight is the mystical moon and when it shines a moonbeam through there, you will be taken to Meggyland. This happens once every generation and there is nothing to be afraid of as long as you never remove the amulets.
Jasmine wrinkled her forehead, What is Meggyland? And how will we get there?
We can Google it when we go downstairs,
giggles William.
Meggyland is a magical place,
said Gran ignoring William and smirking, and you are taken there in a Moonbeam.
Very funny Gran,
said William and chuckled, and I suppose a unicorn will meet us.
No,
said Gran smirking, you and the other chosen families will be met by the Meggylands Guardian.
Oh yes, and what do we do there?
Asked William furrowing his brow and thinking his Grandmother is joking.
Gran smiled. You just have fun; there is a lot to do. You are all there to make sure the Evil Grimbarians and their leader, wicked Witch Teresamay, don’t get into the park and change it into a wasteland.
So we have to fight evil trolls, do we get ray guns,
asked William smirking
No William, they are not Evil Trolls,
said Gran chuckling. They are other kids whose families were bad before, and you won’t need to do any fighting, just have fun…, but remember,
said Gran leaning forward, never remove your amulets, they are Meggylands protection, and be careful, the Grimbarians are sneaky and may get spies inside the park.
Jasmine and William looked at one another smiling, neither believing their grandmother until a Moonbeam then shone through the skylight and they gasped.
The beam made a circle of radiant rainbow colours in the centre of the room.
Go into the light kids and don’t be afraid. I will see you soon.
The pair looked at Gran smiling, she motioned them towards the light, and they stood.
Jasmine and William looked at one another and nervously made their way into the Moonbeam.
Chapter Two
The pair gasped and closed their eyes as the brightness of the light increased, and then they heard a voice.
Hello Jasmine and William, I am Guardian Pearl, welcome to Meggyland.
The pair opened their eyes and looked in wonder. They smelled the clear fresh air and they felt warm on a bright summer’s day.
They looked at the smiling Guardian who looked like their Gran wearing sunglasses with a parrot on her shoulder. She told them. Go with Humphrey cushion who will take you to meet the other children and show you around Meggyland.
A small blue gnome standing by The Guardian’s side whose face looked like a creased blue cushion, smiles and led Jasmine and William to the centre of Meggyland.
Jasmine and William could see other children laughing, giggling, and going on funfair rides within the huge park, with a large lake at the centre and smaller branches of the lake went around Meggyland and the kids looked at the lake.
C:\Users\ACER\Desktop\RUBY AND ZIGGY\henry.png Jasmine gasped as a sleek blue dolphin leapt from the water and waved at them before splashing back in the clear shallow lake.
Humphrey chuckled. "That is Henry; his family live in the lake and you can go and speak with them later.
Jasmine gasped. The dolphins can talk.
Oh yes,
said Humphrey, we all talk.
Jasmine saw a smiling giraffe with his neck bent down speaking with two other children and gasped. Are we dreaming?
Humphrey chuckled and led the pair to a large multi-coloured shack. Here is the Candy Shack and the meeting point for later,
he said.
It looks like it’s made from candy-cane, and smells of candy-floss,
whispered William. I wonder if we can eat it,
he chuckled.
Humphrey took them over to a large colourful map of Meggyland. He pointed to the Ferris wheel, roller coasters and other fairground attractions
He told them they could eat anything around the park, candyfloss, toffee apples, doughnuts, and fresh fruit that the animal staff carried around with them.
William still felt confused and asked.Gran said we are here to help stop the Grimbarians, but I don’t understand, what are we supposed to do?
Humphrey smiled, and a rainbow appeared at his side that changed into Guardian Pearl. You are here to have fun, William,
she said, that is what Meggyland is here for. The power of you having a good time keeps us existing and makes sure the sense of fun and adventure stays alive in your world.
She then looked sullen and added. If the Grimbarians get in, they would destroy everything, then all hope for happiness would be gone and people would only be sad and miserable.
Where are the Grimbarians?
Jasmine asked.
C:\Users\ACER\Desktop\RUBY AND ZIGGY\clipart146593.png They are outside Meggylands invisible barrier, trying to get in,
said Guardian Pearl. Every generation is the same. The chosen families, known as Meggyland guests, are allowed in, while the Grimbarian children have to stay outside and watch you having fun. Witch Teresamay lies and tells them Meggyland guests are selfish, evil, and spoilt, so won't let them in; but if they bring her an amulet they can also come in, so they plan ways to steal amulets and enter.
Guardian Pearl sighs.
An invisible barrier stops them coming in, but if they get hold of one of your amulets, they will get in and Teresamay will destroy Meggyland and turn it into a filthy wasteland.
How long can we stay
asked Jasmine, feeling excited and wanting to explore.
Guardian Pearl smiled. Long enough to have fun Jasmine,
she said as a Lioness came rushing over and after catching her breath, said. Guardian Pearl, we detected a tear in the barrier and think two Grimbarians got in and are pretending to be Meggyland guests and steal an amulet.
Guardian Pearl looked concerned and rubbed her chin. "Oh dear, that is serious, thank you for letting me know Nora. Witch Teresamay must have been planning and preparing this for generations and waiting for our guests to arrive. I must warn the other children and try to find the imposters. Nora and Humphrey tell the other staff and tell them to be on the lookout.
Nora the Lioness and Humphrey cushion nodded and, turning into a rainbow ball, Guardian Pearl vanished.
Okay kids, have fun, but remember, take care of your amulets and never take them off, no matter what happens. If you find Grimbarians, holler for Guardian Pearl or any nearby staff,
said Humphrey cushion looking concerned as he walked away.
Oh,
said Jasmine, that doesn’t sound good. Gran said the Grimbarians are kids like us, so how would we know?
William shrugged and said. Right then Jasmine, it’s time to explore.
"Too right, said Jasmine, let's go to the lake and see Henry and the dolphins, but we need to make sure our amulets are safe.
C:\Users\ACER\Desktop\RUBY AND ZIGGY\gorilla-clipart-sad-7.png Yeah, good idea Jasmine, but let’s go and have a ride on that first,
said William pointing at the roller coaster, whose cars appeared to be going into a fluffy cloud before returning with the sound of happy children screaming and cheering in the bright yellow and red cars.
Hello children, my name is Jeremy, would you like a doughnut?
A Chimpanzee carrying a tray of hot fresh doughnuts asked them.
Ooh,
said William taking a round chocolate doughnut off the tray and taking a bite of the warm sugary cake.
Try one Jasmine, they are delicious,
mumbled William with pieces of the warm doughnut spraying from his mouth."
No thanks,
said Jasmine, I don’t want to get sick on the rides.
They went to the start of the roller coaster and, as William finished the doughnut, a Gorilla smiled and put the safety bar over them. The small car moved along the track, built up speed and hurtled skywards.
Jasmine and William clung on tight to the safety bar as the clear blue sky disappeared and they went into a fluffy white cloud and, as the rail-track levelled out and the roller coaster car stopped. Hello children,
said a large pink flamingo as it flew past and several robin redbreasts landed on the car and said hello.
This cloud smells of marsh mellows,
said William and Jasmine tutted at her brother, who loved sweets.
The car moved forward and the birds said goodbye and flew off as the rail went vertical and the car sped up. The pair again clung to the rail and as the car hurtled towards the ground, they screamed. The car then slowed and went gently along the track to the start, with Jasmine and William chuckling with delight.
That was fantastic,
said William, can we go again?
He asked the Gorilla who nodded.
No, let’s go and see Henry, there are plenty of other rides we can go on later,
said Jasmine.
William agreed and they got out of the car and walked towards the lake.
Other children were in the water and splashing about with Henry and his family. Come in,
said a boy who looked the same age as Jasmine and William."
We haven’t brought our swimwear either,
said Jasmine looking at the boy and his sister fully clothed
You don’t need them,
said a young dolphin, come in as you are, and your clothes will dry as soon as you leave the water.
Jasmine and William got into the warm shallow water and went over to David and Susan, talking to the young dolphin, Henrys son, Flipper."
C:\Users\ACER\Desktop\31240a5726e490d47e3cefd9e22ccb60.png They all introduced themselves and splashed around with Flipper until Henry swam over and said. Flipper, why don’t you take your new friends around the lake?
Good idea Dad,
said Flipper, who smiled at the four. Hold on to my fin.
The four held on to Flipper's dorsal fin and felt the water
