The secret service attendant watched the smoke billow from the turned office chair as he cleared his throat and tried again.
Mr. President?
he called out a bit louder.
But all he heard was the tinkling of ice in a glass as the chair slowly swiveled in his direction.
The smoke was beginning to thicken in the room as the ash from his cigar slowly wafted down his desk. Everyone was worried about him since the murder of his wife. One year into the presidency and he had lost the support system he had come in with, and his cabinet was worried about him. He was making rash decisions, signing exorbitant bills into office, and even pushing through with funding some sort of barrier along the neighboring countries. He was calling impromptu press conferences and spouting rhetoric about deporting everyone who weren’t legal citizens, and whenever he wasn’t wriling up the entire country, he was in his office smoking a billowing cigar and draining way too much bourbon into his stomach.
There were many people who were trying to keep him balanced that were worried about him.
What?
President Rossi grunted.
Hm?
the service agent hummed.
You came in here asking for me,
the president stated, what the hell do you want?
It’s uh...dinnertime, Mr. President,
the man said as he clasped his hands in front of his body.
Not hungry,
he murmured before turning his chair back to face out the window.
The man sighed before he unclasped his hands.
