    Chapter 1

    The Party

Favy sat in the COBOL computer class while the Mr. Larnold taught the class about the basics of COBOL programming. Favy was alert and listened to Mr. Larnold's presentation the entire time while some students had slept or daydreamed. She couldn't wait to create her first computer program. It's been over a month that they would create a computer program in front of Mr. Larnold. Favy kept staring at her computer. She knew the COBOL programming code by heart. She loved computers. She fell in love with them every since she was young when she played with computer games. Favy was a Senior at Beddingfield High School of Wilson, North Carolina. Her dreams was to become a computer programmer as her career. After Mr. Larnold's presentation, Mr. Larnold told the class to create six programs from their textbooks. First, Favy had drafted out what she wanted for the program. On the first task, the program was all about displaying which trophy should have a bronze answer, platinum answer, or a gold answer that would be displayed. Once the button is pushed, the program should show bronze, platinum, or gold that should be displayed after the type of trophy is typed on the dialog box. Once Favy made a rough draft, Favy knew what variables and statements to use to display the answer from the program. Favy typed all the statements including the variables, literals, and execution parts around ten minutes. Once she ran the program, the answers wasn't displayed correctly. So, she asked Mr. Larnold for help. Mr. Larnold stated to save the program on a USB to upload to his computer. Favy saved the program on her USB and gave the USB to the teacher. Mr. Larnold ran the program on his own computer. He found out the program didn't work correctly. So, he rubbed his chin.

What is going on Mr. Larnold? I've tried everything and I even mapped it out. Favy said.

Maybe your logic is wrong. Did you put all of your variables in as you supposed to? Mr. Larnold asked.

    Yeah. I did everything.

Just check your logic of the program. Look at the Procedure section of your program code.

Thank you sir. She took the USB from her teacher. She studied the program code five times. She finally figure it out after thirty minutes. She was missing a hole in the logic of the program. She forgot a period and the IF statement was missing a code word. The IF statement was created to put out errors of the program. After configuring any errors, Favy ran the program and the program worked correctly. She was ready to do the next program.

I got it Mr. Larnold! Favy shouted with excitement.

That's great! I am so excited for you. Mr. Larnold said as he got up from his chair to pat her shoulder. Favy had blushed. She stared at Mr. Larnold's smile and how the way he dressed so professionally. She couldn't believe how simple the error was in her COBOL program. She had to remember that all COBOL programs were case sensitive. It was five minutes until the next bell had rung for the next morning class. After her second class, Favy couldn't wait for lunch. Her favorite for lunch was pizza and French fries with some fruit juice. She turned in all her programs except for one on a hybrid program to be sent to the teacher. Favy knew she did a great job. The rest of the class rolled their eyes because they knew it was a boring class and they didn't want to do any work. Favy was the opposite. She was enthusiastic about computer programming. At the sound of the bell, Favy gathered her books, notebooks, and paper to put them in her book sack. She had to go to her locker to grab her books for the next class, which was English IV. She also loved reading different stories and writing papers about them. The love for English wasn't like the love for computer programming.

At her locker, she met her best friends Coco and Cola. Her best friends were fun to hang around and they were beautiful. They always wear the stylish outfits in the size of Medium. Coco was dark skin and Cola was light skin.

Yo what's up Favy? Coco asked.

Nothing much. I was just in my COBOL programming class. Favy said.

You still like that computer shit when you be tripping on. You talk about it all day long. Coco laughed.

Yeah. I still like computers. Favy exclaimed.

    Okay. Okay.

Yeah. Leave her alone. She will be making that mula honey. Cola smiled.

Yep. That's the plan. Favy stated.

So, are you ready for the party tonight? Coco asked.

Man! You talk about that party all the time. Probably. Favy joked.

I got to know, ya know. The party will be lit. You always don't know if you are going. Coco demanded.

    I don't know.

    Well I'm going.

Sign me up girl. I'm going too. Cola said.

I probably got some homework to do or something. Favy explained.

You stay focused. Damn! It's time to let your hair down. Coco excitedly stated.

    I don't know about that.

    Okay. Suit yourself.

Yeah. See you tonight. Cola walked away. Favy wasn't into partying, but getting her education. Education was so important to her that Favy wanted to go to college some day to have a career. Once she has a career, Favy would independent.

Around eight at night, it was time for the party. Favy sat on the bed to stare at the clock. She had her homework and her laptop on her bed. Favy was so busy completing her homework. Favy worked on her paper in Art class, read stories from English, finished COBOL and C# programming problems. She still didn't finish her paper for Art class and thirty minutes had passed when she didn't push the pen. All of sudden, she had thought about the party while she was doing her homework. So, she quickly looked for an outfit. She pulled out a loose blouse with a leather skirt and some black heels. She knew had a nice figure to show off her body in a leather skirt and she could show off her legs nicely with the outfit. She walked in the kitchen while her mother had cooked.

Mom I am going to my friend's house tonight to do my homework there. Favy said.

Sure you can honey. Be back by ten now. That's your bed time. Destha stated.

Aw, mom. Can it be eleven?

    No. Ten. That's final!

    Okay.

She got dressed, put her laptop in her book bag, and put her bookbag in her car. Then, she drove to the party. The party was a house party. Favy never went to a house party. She knew if she didn't go she would miss all the fun. Favy didn't want to drink, but all she wanted to do was dance. Favy wanted to have some safe fun. The place was thirty minutes away. When she got there Favy found a lot of cars parked at the front of the house. So, Favy parked far away from the house. Favy's hair was wavy and long after she had curled with a curling comb. She couldn't wait to meet her best friends.

Favy walked in the big living room full of teenagers drinking fruit juice. There was a big crowd in the living room and the birthday cake was in the kitchen.

Yo there's Favy! Favy over here! Coco yelled from the corner of the living room. She was with Cola. Favy approached them.

Hey! Favy said excitedly. I'm finally here!

Cola danced to Cardi B's music called Money.

What about your homework? Coco said as she had to shout over the music.

I do have a lot of homework. I'll get it done tomorrow. It's due on Friday. But, I didn't want to miss all of the fun. Favy stated.

Shit! I'm glad that you are here. But, there are some fine boys here. Maybe you can find a boyfriend here.

Yeah. That will be real good.

Girl! I'm so glad you are here. We are going to have some fun! Cola smiled. Coco is right. Look at all the fine men here.

Cola had on clothes that were revealing. She had a crop top that had shown her abs, and she had on baggy pants that sagged to the bottom of her flashy sneakers.

I know. The men do look kinda of old though. Favy frowned at her surroundings.

Yeah. I heard that there will be some Seniors and some college boys here too. Cola said.

Damn. That's crazy. I'm at the wrong place then.

You'll be fine. Get you a boyfriend, girl! Cola interjected.

Okay. They are still fine though. Favy commented.

    Yeah.

Favy, Cola, and Coco danced on the next song called Bulletproof by YG.

We are going to get some birthday cake. Cola insisted.

Okay. Go right ahead. I'm fine. Favy continued to dance by herself. She moved sexually to the song as most of the guys had stared at Favy. Favy was almost the life of the party even the some of the girls were getting jealous. But, nobody touched her or spoken to Favy. Favy moved her hips to the beat and waved her arms. She felt so good to be out of the house for once. Favy only wanted to dance for the rest of the night. She felt a nudge on her shoulder.

You want some girl. I have plenty for everybody. Sammi asked.

Favy stared at Sammi up and down. She knew Sammi was a thug as the way she dressed. She had tattoos, long hair as she was dressed in a plaid, buttoned up, shirt with some baggy jeans and flashy sneakers. Sammi also had a diamonds in both of her ears. Favy had thought about it and was tempted to try some liquor.

    Nope. Favy stated instead.

Come on! I have enough for everybody. It's the time of the night to just let loose. Sammi insisted.

    "Okay."

Favy took one of her cups, and Sammi poured a full cup of Watermelon Vodka.

    That's enough.

    Sammi had laughed.

Enjoy. Sammi said. I'm going to put this shit in the Kool Aid.

    Oh my God! Favy shouted.

And don't stop me either, ma! Sammi laughed.

Favy had gasped. She knew the entire crowd would be drunk and they drove too. They probably would get a taxi. Favy was worried. Favy walked in the kitchen with Sammi. She gasped and watched her pour Watermelon Vodka in the punch. Then, Favy found Cola and Coco eating while standing up.

    What you doing? Cola asked.

I was just dancing. Favy stared at Sammi. But, you know this girl just put Watermelon Vodka in the punch!

Damn! Cola and Coco stated in unison.

Yeah. Favy said as she drunk some Watermelon Vodka. Ewwww.

What are you drinking girl? Cola asked.

It's some alcohol from that girl. Favy frowned at her drink.

Put that away girl before you get drunk. Coco said.

Nope. I'm here to have fun. Favy said.

Okay. But, you drove here. Cola gasped.

    So.

Coco and Cola both shook their heads. The next song played Different, which was recorded by Princess Nokia. It was a high impact, rap song, which was nice and cool.

"Ooooo....it's Princess Nokia. Come on girls let's dance." Favy stated happily.

"Oooooo....this song is fiya." Coco said.

Yeah. This song is real lit. Cola agreed.

Cola, Coco, and Favy had danced to the song. The beat was fierce and Princess Nokia had bars that were fantastic with swagger. Suddenly, the three girls had felt a hand around their shoulders. Each girl had turned around to see an attractive, black male. Each girl felt like they were in heaven as they grinded their booties to the beat. They felt like they haven't danced in a long time as their booties ached, but the aches didn't stop them. The three girls were the only ones on the floor that made the whole party dance on the dance floor. Couples danced as they filled the entire dance floor. Some people were getting drunk from the punch as the wobbled on the dance floor. Some people had fun on the dance floor as they shown their moves. Favy really like the guy with the cocoa butter skin, white teeth, and a goatee. Favy knew he looked a little older much like a college boy. Right after another, the DJ played more of Princess Nokia fierce, rap songs with the explosive beats. The party danced on the dance floor while the hits came along one after another. Favy had stopped dancing and laughed with all the fun.

What's yo name shawty? He asked.

    My name is Favy.

My name is Chris Allen. I'm in college right now.

That's cool. I go to Beddingfield High School.

"Then you are little shawty." Chris spoken and Favy had laughed.

But you are real cute. Can I get your number? Chris asked.

Sure. Favy smiled from ear to ear. Favy took out her cell phone and gave it to Chris. Chris typed his cell phone number in her cellphone.

Just call me anytime. Now...your phone number.

Oh I forgot. Favy said as she grab his cell phone to type her cell phone number in his cell phone.

I see you later. Chris said as Favy stared at him walking away.

    Oooooo....girl. I got a boyfriend. Coco exclaimed.

    Me too girl. Cola said.

He was so cute. Oh my God! Favy said excitedly.

I told you this party got some fine guys in here. Cola admitted.

Yeah. I chose the right guy too. Favy said.

Yeah. I am so excited. I'm planned on a weekend with my boo. Coco said.

    That's dope girl. Cola said.

Yeah. It is. My boo didn't say we are going to hang out. Favy shrugged her shoulders.

You will have some day together. I believe it. Cola smiled.

    Yeah. Coco agreed.

Favy had finished drinking her Vodka. After twenty minutes, Favy gotten a little heated.

Yo Favy is drunk! Coco laughed.

We should drive you home and leave your car here. You can get it tomorrow. Cola said.

Yeah. That's a good idea. Favy said.

We told you shouldn't drink yo. Coco laughed.

Yeah. I know. I just wanted to see what it taste like. Favy said.

Damn girl. Are you okay? Cola asked.

I'm fine. Favy almost fell down.

    Damn. Whoa....Favy!

Cola and Coco held their hands out for Favy.

Maybe we should go home. Coco said.

    Yeah. Cola agreed.

No you guys. Maybe we should dance some more. Favy stated.

Okay. Just for a little while. Cola insisted.

    Yeah. Coco agreed.

The DJ played some more YG explosive hits. Favy, Coco, and Cola waved their hands in the air, smiled, laughed, and shook their hips to the beat when their guy friends had left. They danced until midnight and their bodies became warm.

Oh my God! It's midnight. I got to go home before my mom kill me. Favy shouted.

Don't worry. We will get you home. Cola said.

Cola and Favy went to Cola's car while Coco went to her car.

I see y'all tomorrow at school. Coco said.

I see you, boo! Cola said.

    Bye! Favy waved at her.

    She rushed to Cola's car.

Wait! I have to get my book bag. Favy shouted.

Okay. Why do you have your book bag? Cola asked.

Favy didn't say anything and she went to her car far away to get her book bag and laptop. She went back to Cola's car with her stuff.

Cuz I had lied to mom that I was doing homework at yo' place. Favy admitted.

    "Ohhhhh!" Cola said.

    Yeah.

    Cola drove Favy home.

I see you tomorrow, girl. Cola said.

Okay. Bye. The party was good.

Yeah it was. We talk about it tomorrow. I know you in a hurry though.

    Yeah. Bye.

    Bye!

Cola drove away when Favy unlocked the door. She walked in to expect her mother. But, she knew she would find her mother waiting on the couch in the living room.

Girl! Where have you been? You supposed to be here around ten! Destha shouted.

I'm sorry. The girls and I were talking non-stop.

You know better than come in here so late. Do you know bad men are out there to get you? For now on out, you are grounded for two months. You are not supposed to go out with your friends for a long time! Destha shouted.

    Mom! Favy groaned.

Now go to your room and go to bed. You got school in the morning. Staying out late at night on a school night! How despicable! Destha shouted.

Favy went into her room to put her things on her desk. She changed into her night gown from her loose blouse, leather skirt, and heels.

    Chapter 2

    The Date

In the next morning, Favy was late to catch the bus. She had a hangover, and she had only thirty minutes to catch the bus. She took a quick wash off and put on some clothes. Favy even put her long hair in a neat bun. She didn't have time to straighten her wavy hair neatly. It was just okay to look decent. Favy had put on the regular, cute, sweater and some jeans. It was almost Spring, so it was a little chilly outside. Favy made it to the bus stop and the bus arrived on time. After her first two classes,
