About this ebook
An 80's themed MC romance novel in the "Dragons' Keeper" series.
_____
Andrew "Thor" Thorssen was like most of his brothers in The Dragons MC, he had a less than stellar childhood and felt as if he owed the MC for saving him. Because when Griff forced Andrew to stop running, he began a new life as Thor — a being strong enough no one would ever control him or hurt him again.
Then, Jane Dawson ran him off the side of the road and he saw a kindred spirit — someone who needed his protection.
Jane Dawson never liked the man her father had chosen for her to marry — Jacob Dawson was cold as ice and ruled everything around him with an iron fist. So, when Jacob backhanded her for serving his dinner ten minutes late, Jane had packed a bag, emptied her hidden bank account, and driven her BMW west. She didn't care where she ended up just as long as it was far away from Jacob; besides, her cousin Eve lived in Nevada.
Smashing into a biker on a deserted Nevada road hadn't been in the plans, but one glance at Thor and Jane wanted nothing more than to allow him to shoulder all of her burdens. Would she be able to stop long enough to let Thor catch her?
S.E. Isaac
Coming from a family of military members, S.E. Isaac learned at an early age what it meant to travel. She spent six years of her childhood in Germany and the remainder in Missouri, USA. She became a young mother at the age of sixteen and learned what determination, motivation, and inspiration could do for one’s life. She has experienced just about everything life can throw at a person, from serving in the military, seeing the effects of war, divorces, childbirth, financial struggles, being a single parent, and raising a special needs child alone. Life hasn’t always granted her the happiness, which she desired, but she never quit treading water. You have to fight for what you want in life. Writing has always been an outlet for her, even at the young age of eight, which is when she started writing poetry and short stories. It has always been a dream to have her work published and to have readers connect with her characters. She believes that is every writer’s dream — to have their work truly read. Connect with S.E. CHAPTER ONE
Thor
Speeding down deserted Nevada roads, the wind ripping at my leather as I squinted past my goggles, I reveled in the freedom. Just me and my bike. The moon was high and the stars glimmered overhead as I fought my demons.
Tonight, was the anniversary of my mom’s death. I’d been ten at the time and she’d been sick for over a year. My dad hadn’t dealt with her death well. So, when I was eighteen, I’d run-off and over a year later Thomas Griffin had found me.
That night was burned into my memory. Up to that point, I’d drifted from one town to another, taking on a job to make enough money to work on my piece of shit Kawasaki I’d had at the time and fuel her up to make it to the next town.
I’d just rolled into town and had already found trouble outside of a local bar, The Joint. Bikes were parked up and down both sides of the street a dive diner, Clyde’s Eats, was on the opposite side of the road and bikers were leaning against the walls on either side.
I’d just spent the better part of an hour pushing my bike into town and couldn’t push it another foot. Something told me to forget my Kawasaki and continue on foot but I’d shrugged and dug into my pocket to pull out my wallet. A few dollar bills, a five, and a ten was all I had to my name. Glancing from the diner to the bar I noted the patches covering the backs of jackets and vests. One proclaimed The Dragons and had a spectacular dragon breathing fire and gripping something in its claws. Squinting I stared at the biker’s surrounding the entrance of the diner… what the fuck? I’d wondered as I stared at the design. Hell’s Bastards.
A few years ago…
Drinks it is, I thought and sauntered inside. I was just old enough to drink and I figured my money would be better spent inside the bar than at any place with biker’s wearing some sort of troll or goblin emblem.
Besides, I’d eaten in the last town… or was that three towns ago. At some point, I’d lost track of the days on the road.
With a shrug, I let the Kawasaki fall to the pavement. The bike was toast. I needed to find myself a job and then maybe buy a car when I was ready to hit the road.
One of the bikers gave me a scowl as I passed, but I ignored him and pulled open the heavy metal door of the bar.
The atmosphere was thick with smoke, hard rock music, and cursing. My shoulders tensed as I felt several pairs of eyes turn to me.
Whiskey. Neat,
I called out as I slid onto a stool.
A scruffy old guy wearing a flannel with the sleeves cut off rolled his eyes in my direction but continued to clean a glass he held in his hand. I was used to this behavior. Covered head to toe in dust, my boots were more gray than black due to the scuff marks, and my jeans were sporting their fair share of holes.
Reaching into my pocket I pulled out my last remaining bills and slapped them to the wooden counter — I’m good for it.
Damn it, Lenny!
A sexy woman with long dark hair pulled up into a ponytail, slapped the man’s arm as she passed.
Grabbing a bottle of whiskey, she scooped up a glass and clunked them both down in front of me.
How much?
I asked as I glanced down at the last of my cash.
How much you wantin’?
She grinned at me as she leaned forward.
Eve,
a man growled as he slumped against the bar next to me.
Don’t you Eve me,
she snapped and waved him
