Chapter 1
We rushed through the desert sands of Arabia. We were heading towards the city of the Watchers, as we had named it. After years of researching ancient scriptures and tales, we had finally located the capital of the Antedeluvian Nephilim.
It was hidden and forgotten deep in the Arabian desert. Of course, Saudi Arabia did not allow anyone to come and excavate in their territory.
Of course, that should not deter us from our goal. Nothing would stop us from finding antedeluvian items that could be sold at very high prices at auctions, where wealthy collectors paid large sums for rare and ancient items. These sums would not go past our noses!
We had previously excavated remains of Nephilim and Annakim settlements and it paid really well. But this was not just a settlement. This was the City of the Watchers! It was the heart of it all. From here Nephilim had gone out into the earth in distant times and here their fathers, the Watchers, had walked the earth. It could give us staggering sums just to get a few items from there.
We had set out from Oman, where our small caravan could cross the unguarded border with Saudi Arabia. It was a real stroke of luck that the City of the Watchers lay at the end of the Arabian Peninsula, where we could cross the border unnoticed.
No one in Oman had been interested in stopping us, but they had warned us. When, during the preparations for the expedition, we had said what our aim was, they had been upset and shaked their heads saying; Djinn, Djinn!
Several had warned us to abandon our goal and told us that the place we wanted to go was haram. It would end in misfortune to go there. We didn't listen, of course. It was just superstition. What would be the difference from our excavations of other Nephilim settlements? Except that this could be the big jackpot that would make us all very rich. Mammon thus propelled us through the desert sand to our destiny.
Above us, the fierce desert sun burned down on our small caravan, blowing a cloud of dust into the otherwise empty and pristine landscape. It was a long walk through the nothingness that lay before us. There were just endless sand dunes around us, but our direction was good and we quickly made it to our goal.
We had lots of courage. Everything went well! We would soon
