About the Book
Terry Wilson wallows in his reverie and embarks on a journey of profound experiences brimmed with an exceptionally natural flow of language. Terry leaves the reader in complete awe who tend to get lost with him along the way. The prudent choice of words and a great command over the language engraves a deeper impact in the minds so as to reflect over life and its prospects with a poignant overflow of wisdom and truth

Dedication
A big thank you to the staff of Austin Macauley for making possible the publication of my books Fifty and Natural.
A Few Horses
A circle is drawn around each of us
An earth’s circumference
Of perhaps a metre across
We never leave it in this life
Or even go to the edge of it, its outskirts.
If we walk over in that direction
Perhaps trying to disguise our intention
It self-corrects and moves with us.
To go there is customarily seen
As a long and dangerous journey
Guarded, sometimes guided, by
Scorpion gods and wild dog gods
Wisdom figures made of sand
That crackle like lightning.
We are already at the Jerusalem point
Why go anywhere else?
Why destroy ourselves with this wild behaviour?
You saw a few horses standing ready in a street
Obviously in need of riders
Besides the old Bedouin waved you over
Me, are you sure?
We are fine to travel anywhere we want
Anywhere on earth
Yet to cross over that half a metre
Breaks a fundamental law.
Our families and societies call us by name
More than the Bedouin figure ever did.
Come closer, we can’t throw rocks that far.
Don’t imagine you can return if it doesn’t work out.
I am not imagining anything.
Babies of the Bible
Let’s take the story and shake it.
Adam was created in his full glowing form
That is, fully adult.
Eve was also created fully formed
As an adult.
It means their offspring were the first children
The first who started small and grew in size.
It was shocking to the new parents
First-time parents in every sense
To see what skin-contained really means
Beings without Being as they knew it
Next-rung-down-Creation
Composed of compost, of the earth
Like a chemistry set
Unable to glow
The light from the sky retreated within
Under fat.
We are hopeful and full of hope.
A mother’s lack of motherhood skills is a great blessing
If she is blessed.
Learning by doing means
You learn by your mistakes.
You grow as a person while
Your children grow as people.
No wonder it turned out badly.
Always in difficulty and hungry
Scraping their sucked-in bellies across a
Parched dry land
They made a great noise of lamentation.
The land was without relent tars and spikes.
Hundreds of children came through
The narrow reed that was Eve.
