    How To Use This Book

    How To Use This Book?

    This book is written for:

    - Individuals who are newly promoted and required to lead projects or support the major parts of a project as a core team member in their respective organizations, and units would find this helpful to their project roles and responsibilities.

    - Individuals who aspired to be project manager, and wanting to Know how and ways to improve his efficiency and effectiveness.

    - Company that wants to improve their profitability through the effective execution of their projects.

The principles are easy to understand, but difficult to master. Be patient with yourself. The proven system is easy to understand and implement as checklists, templates and forms are given with step-by-step guidance. However, to be successful in project management you need both the principles and the proven system.

I suggest that you read through the whole book at least once, then return for a second read to concentrate on the principles #1-7. Commit yourself to understand and apply them daily. Commit to learn and do it until it becomes second nature to you. I can assure you that if you keep practicing it you will be greatly benefitted and rewarded.

An even better way to ensure that you progress to deeper levels of understanding and implementation is for you to read as though you are going to teach to your team members, your vendors, and customers.

Enjoy your reading and keep improving.

    See you at the top!

    About The Author

    Introduction

    Introduction

    I have a problem!

Over the years as a practitioner, I had seen many projects ended in the red. I analysed the situation and seek for an answer. I observed that some PM does not have the necessary knowledge, but most have the required knowledge. But still, the projects are not executed to achieve the desired results. I talked to some of the project managers and further diagnosed the information gathered.

    I found 2 reasons;

    1. There is no passion, delegation, and commitment to create excellence. Most perform functions only and go to work to do processes. They are neither committed to create excellence nor seek continuous improvement.

    2. They have the knowledge but do not know how to apply them effectively.

Sadly to see many projects don’t get the ROI (Return on Investment).

Often delay incurs additional hidden costs and losses due to extra engineering hours, changes & modification, inspecting quality into products rather than building quality into products. Does not have the mental or cultivate the habit of Doing It Right the First Time.

Some project managers stop there. They encourage people, make them feel good, help them feel confident, but then they never lead them to action. It’s not enough to help someone feel good.

    Understanding changes minds.

    Action changes lives.

If you really want to help others, you need to take your communication to the next level - which is to call people to action.

Most do not know what to do, do not know how to apply what’s being taught to them.

There is no action plan, step-by-step guidance with resources for them to take the right action towards effective project management. Until now!

    The Purpose

This book is about applying the principles I am about to teach and provide with resources and step-by-step guidance to help people to move from know-how to Do Now

The purpose of this book is to help people find the effective ways and doing things differently for better results.

There are a whole lot of things for project management. I will reveal to you in chapter 6, The Proven System.

The fact that you’re interested in this book, shows that you are a responsible person, who want to do good to better
