Danielle, Amanda's mother, takes an instant dislike for Raven when Amanda brings her home for spring breaks. Raven senses the dislike and confronts Danielle and then the sparks really fly.

They end up deciding to settle the disagreement with a friendly no holds barred catfight. Both women end up with more than their ego's bruised. In the end the winner gets the loser as her personal attendant through the rest of the spring break period. And Danielle agrees to stay out of her daughter's love life.

Amanda really didn't need a roommate. Her savings account more than covered the rent on the apartment for the next few years. However, a fellow classmate in her Political Science class, Irene, had mentioned that she knew of a student who was in need of a place to stay. Amanda's parents had raised her to help others so, she contacted Raven to offer her a room. Amanda made sure to set a very low price and then they agreed to meet and discuss the apartment.

They had arranged to meet at a local coffee shop. Amanda had tried to remain calm and strong during that initial discussion, but she was so turned on by Raven that the conversation became a blur. Amanda had shown up, on time, wearing a bikini top and a small skirt. She had gone to the beach and had done some tanning.

Raven was into that Gothic sort of thing. Straight black hair over one eye, black lipstick and fingernail polish. Body piercings, tattoos, always wore black knee high lace up boots and black clothes

Raven had explained and the effect of exposing skin in the small bikini barely holding up a pair of large breasts when she met Amanda.

Raven's comments caused Amanda to be very distracted. After a few hours of talking and trying not to glare at the naked flesh before her, Raven asked if Amanda would take her as a roommate. Amanda told her absolutely, offered her the room and Raven accepted.

Sleep, that night, was not coming easily as Amanda laid in her bed and was not surprised that all her thoughts were on Raven. She loved the goth look, and the self-assured way she carried herself.
