A new addition to the Elmer the Patchwork Elephant series. Elmer the patchwork elephant istaking a walk when he hears a terrible ROAR! Then he comes upon his jungle animal friends who are running in the opposite direction. Elmer's friends warn him that their is a monster in the jungle! Curious, Elmer decides to investigate. Eventually Elmer finds the monster, a little blue puff ball, named Bloo‐Bloo, and realizes that Bloo‐Bloo is just as scared of the jungle animals as they are of him. This simple message of bravery combined with David McKee's colorful illustrations and suspenseful story will definitely keep the attention of young readers. This story would work well in monster themed read aloud. Recommended for a pre‐K‐2 audience.
