- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really cute story about a boy and his temper. One of the best storybooks we currently have in our store for ages 3-5.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5ARC provided by NetGalleySam wants to play on the playground. But he has to wait and take his turn!! Why?? Its so frustrating he wants to pout and throw things all about. And the Temper hears him and comes by. He shows Sam how to clear the place out and Sam decides to keep him as a pet. But soon the beastly thing is following him everywhere! Causing trouble and trouble more! And Sam, knows he needs to get rid of the Temper. But what can he do? This is a great little book about emotions and how to control them. By personifying “temper,” it helps children (and adults to be honest) understand better what they’re feeling when they get upset or are angry and what can happen if they don’t control them. It also makes for some funny situations as Sam tries to learn to control Temper and sees the effects it has on those around him. This book will help children (and again adults) learn that acting on their emotions can have consequences. The drawings of Temper and Sam will help readers connect with what happens sometimes when emotions get out of control, and pretty accurately capture how not only the reader feels, but others as well. Good overall story and feel. 4 out of 5 stars.
