About this ebook
Welcome to Tucker Springs, Colorado. Population, 70-something-thousand. Home to beautiful mountain views, two respected universities, and a ridiculously high cost of living.
Jason Davis can handle a breakup. And an overwhelming mortgage. And a struggling business. And the excruciating pain that keeps him up at night thanks to a shoulder injury. But handling all of it at once? No, not so much. When his shoulder finally pushes him to a breaking point, he takes a friend's advice and gives acupuncture a try.
Acupuncturist Michael Whitman is a single dad struggling to make ends meet. When a mutual friend refers Jason as a patient, and Jason suggests a roommate arrangement to alleviate their respective financial strains, Michael jumps at the opportunity.
Living together should be easy, and it would be if not for Jason's undeniable attraction to his new roommate. The temptation to act on those feelings is strong, but Michael is straight.
Or at least, that's what their mutual friend claims...

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jason owns his bar but everything has been going to pieces his love life, his business, and his body. His friend bugs him to see an acupuncturist. He gets relief but is not sure he can afford it. When he realizes that his doctor Michael is having struggles too it seems logical to pool their resources. But where things go from there can came as a big surprise.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5A pity, because I liked some of the authors other works a lot, but here I couldn't warm to the MCs and found their "love story" very, very boring.
Both remained shallow and two dimensional. The first person POV didn't work here, as the narrator remained as exchangeable as his "love interest", who was a tall, dark and handsome cliche.
The second star is solely for staying away from insta-love and not being sappy. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This did not feel like a L.A. Witt book. The sex came late in the story and I did not feel the emotional connection that I have in the past. I liked the character of Jason. I related to him. Mike's character was fine, although there was time when it felt too angsty.
The ending felt rushed, almost like this was the end of Act 1. It had a "happy for right now ending" rather than a HEA.
Not saying I did not like it, just didn't love it. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked this one as a jumping off point for the Tucker Springs series. I read it out of order but it made no difference at all. I liked catching glimpses of characters featured in the other books & felt as if the Lights Out puzzle piece clicked into place. Jason & Michael were both sympathetic characters & when they finally got to it, the sex was very passionate. I really enjoyed this book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/53.5 stars. Enjoyable summer read. A little sluggish in the middle, but over all a well written novel.
