The Master's Rogue Drones - George C. Baker

    Chapter 1: Death Comes Quickly

    Monday, May 18, 1:45 pm EST (UTC/GMT-6)

United Nations Building, 760 United Nations Plaza, New York  United States President Mark Reynolds was invited by Secretary General Boris Flores’s to speak to the joint session of the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council. Reynolds was recognized as a world-renowned international leader in pushing reforms of economic and environmental policies to significantly address climate change.

General Secretary Boris Flores’s introductory remarks underlined the peril his home country of Paraguay faced by continuous torrents of rain and serious flooding attributed to the devastating effects of climate change on the Gran Chaco mountains. Paraguay was not alone, as thirty-seven nations faced major devastation, while another seventeen nations were in the midst of implementing significant changes to mitigate issues caused by climate change.  Flores graciously introduced President Reynolds for supporting various climate change reforms within U.S. policies. He shook Reynolds’ hand vigorously to the audience’s thunderous applause.

After a moment, Reynolds waved to the crowd of diplomats and world leaders, stepped onto the dais and approached the famous podium. Reynolds seemed a bit overwhelmed and slightly embarrassed at the continuing applause and standing ovation as a display of support for his leadership in the implementation of new environmental standard policies to cut the United States carbon footprint by 65% by lessening dependence on fossil fuels. The booming applause continued for over eleven minutes. Reynolds continued to smile, took a small bow and began to wave his arms to quiet the applause.

Despite his efforts, the applause continued for another minute. Finally speaking into the microphone, Thank you, thank you, thank you for your generous warm welcome.

The applause ended within the next few seconds. A few latecomers scurried to their seats as the auditorium lights were dimmed and spotlights focused on General Secretary Boris Flores and President Reynolds.

In the meantime, Reynolds carefully scanned the teleprompter; then began, I appreciate General Secretary Flores’s personal invitation to speak today on my personal lifelong passion for recognizing the dire implications of climate change on our planet and leadership in creating policies to counter this threat to human kind.  Reynolds smiled and paused as the applause erupted again.

Over the past six months, bipartisan leaders within the United States Congress and corporate communities have worked in harmony to hammer out a series of policies and regulations to address the United States significant role in the environmental disaster confronting our planet. Applause erupted again. I am here today to underline those new policies and the objectives we are working to attain, in the hope that other international communities will make similar efforts to address climate change.

As his hands took hold of the sides of the United Nations podium a highly potent neurotoxin penetrated his exposed skin. Within two seconds Reynolds felt slightly dizzy. Instinctively he held the podium even tighter and spread his legs to take a wider stance to steady his wobbly legs. That effort significantly increased the exposure of his skin to the deadly potent neurotoxin. The quick acting poison coursing through Reynolds’s capillaries activated neurotransmitters of nitric oxide. Those neurotransmitters and glutamates caused neurons to malfunction disrupting interneuron communication resulting in violent cramping and twitching of entire muscle groups resulting in a shortage of breath.

The reaction caused uncontrolled fluttering of his eyes, and immediately slurring of his speech.

Reynolds hand suddenly grasping at his throat as he felt his airway becoming severely constricted drastically restricting his critical need for oxygen.  His legs gave way and he fell onto the dais. His organs were beyond being in critical condition as violent spasms indicated that death was unavoidable. The President’s eyes rolled back into the far reaches of his eye sockets, white foam and yellow bile slowly erupted and spouted out his mouth as his body mounted one last breathe then lay motionless exhausted by the vile poison’s attack on every vital organ. In reality death was a form of sweet surrender. The three Secret Service agents assigned to the Presidential protective detail watched helplessly as the President gave initial physical signs of severe distress.

Immediately Secret Service agents and the attending doctor, rushed to give assistance arriving in time to witness the President drop to the floor and the last sign of life escape Reynolds body. The fact was that at this point there was nothing anyone could do to save his life. The Secret Service agents immediately attempted to give chest compressions, until the doctor in a last-ditch effort pushed them aside to administer Adrenalin Injection BP 1/1000 directly into Reynolds' arrested heart. It was a fruitless effort as all the vital signs indicated that Reynolds was already dead.

The audience in the packed United Nations hall seemed stunned as President Reynolds seemed in distress and disappeared out of sight behind the podium. The production director of the televised UN address recognizing the potential critical importance of the President’s unprecedented medical emergency initially focused on the empty podium. Suddenly a mixed group of Secret Service agents and emergency staff rushed to aid the ailing president. The director decided to go to commercial while still recording the events behind the UN podium from various cameras and positions.

The network scrambled to gather a group of news commentators and medical specialist into their New York studio as the producers attempted to deal with their unparalleled recording of the apparent serious medical collapse of the President of the United States.

    Chapter 2:  A Shocking Announcement

    Monday, May 18, 1:52 pm EST (UTC/GMT-6)

CNN Center, 190 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303

Scott Haskins had just introduced his hour long CNN segment and given a short outlined of the segment’s planned Breaking News topics and transitioned to a short commercial break, when his Director Brenda Getz, abruptly interrupted his segment plan.

Scott, we are going directly to an medical incident involving President Reynolds while he was addressing the joint Security Council and General Assembly of the United Nations. It looks as if he fainted of became extremely ill and fell behind the podium. We have Donna Derby reporting from within the United Nations hall.  The commercial ended abruptly.

BREAKING NEWS  - in bold red flashed numerous times across the viewers screen before Haskins reappeared.

Scott came out of commercial; We take you now to a Donna Derby within the United Nation. Donna, what have you learned of President Reynolds’ medical situation?

Scott, President Reynolds was roughly ten minutes into his UN Climate Change presentation when a medical condition made it impossible for him to continue. She paused briefly as segment Director Getz encouraged her to proceed in her ear bud.

President Reynolds is noted for being in exceptional physical health in each of his three previous official Bethesda physicals. Reportedly the President follows a strict diet and continues a stringent exercise routine he initiated as a young ensign while serving in the U.S. Navy SEALs.  Donna paused as several pictures of the President doing his SEAL exercises are shown in rapid succession.

The audience of 1,800 in the UN General Assembly Hall remained in a stunned silence, as President Reynolds seemed to convulse due to a medical condition, and suddenly drop to the floor behind the podium. Immediately Secret Service agents and medical staff members rushed to his aid. At this point we are uncertain of his condition.

Scott, asked, Donna are you able to observe President Reynolds?

Unfortunately, President Reynolds and those giving assistance are well out of sight behind the large podium.

    What else is happening?

A moment ago, members of the United Nations Security Staff started to clear the General Assembly Hall.  I observed a medical team rushing to the area behind the podium with a gurney.  Donna paused for a few seconds.

A doctor and paramedics are transporting the President from the Hall. Secret Service agents and staff have the gurney completely surrounded making it impossible to see the President’s condition. There is a weird silence as the gathered diplomats and aides are exiting the hall. Clearly everyone seems focused and concerned for President Reynolds health. The President has been taken outside the hall.

Brenda Getz again commented into Scott’s ear bud. Scott we have a local CBS affiliate that has coverage from outside the UN. Standby.

Scott, Thanks Donna, please report any further developments on the president’s medical situation within the UN. We now cut to the exterior in the United Nations Plaza for a report from CBS2 WLNY news feed. This is a report by CBS2 reporter Tyler Franks, located within the United Nations Plaza.

"Marine Squadron One, a mix of two specially equipped Osprey MV-22s Tiltrotors and the President’s own Marine One VH-60N White Hawk landed in the United Nations Plaza shortly after President Reynolds collapsed within the General Assembly Hall.  I can see Sarah Glaxon, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Jerry O’Toole, President Reynolds Chief Of Staff, varied White House staff members, numerous aides and Secret Service agents are in lock step accompanying the Presidential gurney out of the UN. There seems to be a general calm around the gurney that would perhaps indicate that the President’s medical situation might not be very serious. From my vantage point I can see the gurney being loaded into a larger Osprey Tiltrotor helicopter with attending medical staff.  Franks paused as the televised live shot zeroed in on the group surrounding the gurney with the Osprey. The door closes and the loaded Osprey lifts off. Immediately followed by the staff loading into other squadron helicopters. I am fairly certain the choppers are off to a local medical hospital. Our studio staff is attempting to locate their medical destination. As Americans we all prayers that President Reynolds medical situation is not serious.  The camera shows the elite Presidential squadron liftoff and flying south along the East River out of sight. Our hearts and prayers are with the President in hopes of a rapid recovery.

Chapter 3: Immediate Reaction and Response

    Monday, May 18, 1:54 pm EST (UTC/GMT-6)

United Nations Building, 760 United Nations Plaza, New York,

The Secret Service acted with prompt precision in their response using the emergency protocols established immediately after the John F. Kennedy assassination in Dallas in 1963. The 25th Amendment created for just such eventualities clarifies the transfer of power from the President to a designated line of successors in the event of any temporary disability or other emergency. It was up to Alexandra Rayburn, POTUS Security Detail lead agent on the scene to inform the Randolph Allen, Director of the United States Secret Service to initiate making specific sequential notifications, securing persons within the chain of successors, and arranging the immediate steps to swear in the Vice President. A text message was sent to update the Secret Service agents providing personal security for Debra Reynolds, their adult children and five grandchildren.

A small FBI squad swung into action within the United Nations building, while a team of thirty FBI agents and forensic experts were assembled to descend on the United Nations Plaza to secure the General Assembly Hall and gather any evidence leading to the President’s sudden death. FBI Director Frank Thomas was giving detailed orders while in flight to meet the Presidential squadron at the Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, New York.

Nine Secret Service agents immediately surrounded Vice President, Josephine Oliver during her NAACP speech at the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans. The agents rushed her off the stage, secured her in beast2 a handed-down $1 million limousine and escorted her motorcade to New Orleans’s Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY).

The VP was informed of the president’s suspicious sudden death well before she entered Air Force Two.

Her aircraft was a special equipped heavily modified Boeing C-32. It was fully manned and ready for takeoff before the Vice President arrived. The FAA placed a hold on all ground, inbound and outbound aircraft as the huge aircraft was given priority for an immediate departure. The Vice President was airborne within ten minutes of her interrupted speech.

Lt. Col. Clare DiFasio, assigned by the US Air Force to transport the "Nuclear Football" had accompanied the Vice President aboard the aircraft on  all of her trips. Col. DiFasio used a specially designed security device to scan the Vice President’s eye and thumb print for security verification purposes as per the protocol. DiFasio carried the Presidential nuclear launch codes and the device that activates launching a preemptive attack or defensive nuclear strike pending the circumstances. The nuclear codes would be given to President Oliver following the official swearing in process.

As a security the FAA routed the Vice President’s aircraft to fly a special designed circuitous route to Joint Base Andrews in Prince George’s County, Maryland.  Supreme Court Chief Justice James Castillo and Gayle Swartz, Secretary of Homeland Security would meet the Vice President to administer the Presidential Oath of Office.

The Kao Hitsumi, Director of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security had a security team assemble all seven hundred and eighty four non-essential employees of the United Nations into the General Assembly Hall to await the arrival of a group of FBI interrogators. Over the next twenty hours, each UN employee would be interrogated and investigated. The recorded interviews would play an important part in the investigation of the events leading up to the Presidents medical situation.

A small team of FBI Technology experts from the New York Federal Plaza FBI Office arrived by chopper to secure original UN recorded security footage for the past 72-hours.

The United Nation’s had eighty-two CCTV security video cameras recording every activity within the large complex.

Another FBI team took samples of President Reynolds earlier meal with Boris Flores, in his private dining room and rushed the samples off to the FBI Lab in Quantico, Virginia.

Both the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Frank Carter (D) MA and Sen. Evelyn James, (R) UT President Pro Tempore of the Senate were swiftly escorted into the secure depths of the White House Situation Room.  Margret Dillon, Secretary of State and Paul Harmon, Secretary of Defense were notified of the President’s death while in transit to Joint Base Andrews from a NATO meeting in Brussels, Belgium.  Their scheduled ETA in the United States was at 4:15 pm EST.

At precisely 2:20 EST, Dr. Karl Knox, Chief of Medical Operations at the Bellevue Hospital, officially declared President Reynolds dead due to suspicious causes yet to be determined by laboratory testing. He signed the official death certificate at 2:42 pm EST. His official announcement would not be made public until after 5:00 pm.

The stock market Dow Jones took a severe hit of 535 points immediate at 2:31 pm as news of President Reynolds’ illness and rumors of his UN death were posted on social media. Securities Exchange Commission Chair Mary Marvin-Dennis immediately suspended trading in all financial markets until further notice.

Jerry O’Toole, a forty-seven year personal friend of the Reynolds family, as President’s Chief of Staff, offered to handle the difficult task of informing the First Lady Debra Reynolds. He arrived at the Staples Mill Road, Hospice of Virginia facility in Richmond at 3:50 pm. The First Lady had been comforting her father in the hospice for the past two days.

Arrangements were made to ensure that O’Toole’s personal talk with Debra was finished prior to any official press announcement.

White House staff members had access to a number of President Reynolds’s important written documents. They retrieved his, DNR, latest will, obituary and document containing his final wishes. They reviewed the documents with the White House Chief of Protocol in starting the initial planning for a state funeral.

White House Press Secretary Barbara Noonan informed the networks and White House press corps of an official nationwide announcement at 5:00 pm EST. Under extremely tight security the President’s body was flown in Air Force 1 from JFK Airport to Joint Base Andrews. The administration initiated plans for a state funeral and burial in Arlington National Cemetery adjacent to the eternal flame grave of President John F Kennedy at 1 Sheridan Drive.

Shortly after 4:00 pm Dr. Charlie Freeman, the top Bellevue Hospital toxicology specialist gave official confirming of the death of President Reynolds resulting from an unfamiliar specialized form of fast acting neurotoxin poison absorbed through skin. Samples of the fast acting deadly neurotoxin were taken from each of President Reynolds’s vital organs and sent to the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, VA. The FBI had already secured the UN podium used to introduce the neurotoxin.

Dexter Ford, the Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) ordered a team to utilize their super computer to comb billions of pieces of electronic communications data for any foreign mention of poisons, neurotoxins, President Reynolds, POTUS, assassination, etc.

An elite FBI technology team at the FBI Biometric Center of Excellence (BCOE) in Clarksburg, West Virginia combed the international Internet. Those technologists networked with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram in searching social media sources for any indication of a terrorist individual or group discussing or claiming responsibility for the presidential assassination. It was a full court press by all seventeen U.S. intelligence and security agencies as well as intelligence agencies of allies to find the source planning and executing the assassination of the United States President.

Three FBI toxicologists were tasked with determining the exact nature of the neurotoxin on each organ in an attempt to distinguish and find any potential laboratory signature identifying the source that produced the poison. At the same time a team of forensic toxicology experts were researching the products from five known laboratories experimenting with neurotoxins to differentiate their unique laboratory process signatures within their unique poisons. Finding a match identifying the laboratory producing the specific neurotoxin was key in determining the source of the assassination.

The investigative bodies of law enforcement, intelligence, and counter terrorism agencies, were working in unison with the similar resources of the our allies to find even remote shreds of evidence that would point to a terrorist organization and leaders that may have ben involved in Reynolds assassination.

    Chapter 4:  NASDAQ’s Major Announcement

Monday, May 18; 2:00 pm EST (UTC/GMT-6)   NASDAQ Market Facility, Times Square, New York, NY In the very midst of the tsunami wave hitting the financial markets over fears following President Reynolds’s death a major announcement was made by Bloomberg News. Goldman, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Stanley; and AMAL CEO Gerald DuPonte III. The segment was shot at the NASDAQ Market Facility on Times Square. Erlacher had managed to get the group together to make the major announcement that had been only a rumor over the past few weeks.

Morgan Stanley had ben chosen to take the AMAL stock public in an IPO offering on NASDAQ on Sunday, May 24th. The Bloomberg televised report gave an in depth video presentation analyzing AMAL’s high tech acquisitions, diverse tech products, and management team of the privately held corporation.

Jacob Goldman expressed that he was pleased that AMAL selected Morgan Stanley due to their stellar reputation, exceptional research, vast knowledge and expertise in assessing the technology sector, and contacts with institutional investors to ensure the offering met the AMAL needs for the infusion of new capital. Morgan Stanley as the underwriters assured AMAL that the IPO would be an amazing success. AMAL would continue to hold seventy percent of the initial stock offering. Goldman went on to share the technical aspects of the AMAL assessment, the process of registering the stock file with the SEC.

Erlacher asserted the market expectation for the IPO offering at $85 per share was hitting over $145 in the first hour.

Ted Brown was rather smug in acknowledging the work that the Morgan Stanley team accomplished in making the assessment and the IPO offering possible. He was thrilled that AMAL would be a gem in the technology sector traded on the NASDAQ. All the while on the personal level was thinking of his new home in Westchester that would be funded by his expected bonus.

DuPonte was extremely positive in pointing out that the long history of AMAL success was based on their ability to attract and retain the best technology talent in the technology sector as well as acquire a diverse group of companies that were themselves leaders in the future directions of technology.

The segment ended with a clip of Gwen Freeman, NASDAQ CEO stating that she was very excited at the rapidly expanding mega technology company AMAL IPO offering. It was a major feather in the cap of NASDAQ to have nurtured a relationship with AMAL which was seen as growing beyond the likes of Amazon, Apple, Google and Microsoft.

Chapter 5: Secret Intelligence Service Alerted

    Monday, May 18, 8:19 pm BST (UTC/GMT-0)

114 St. Agnes Place, Kennington, London, UK

Rodney Peck, the SIS Specialist Protection driver dropped off the Spencer Wendell Director at his new row house adjacent to Kennington Park and turned to head back to the Secret Intelligence Service Headquarters in Vauxhall, when Wendell called and had him turn about and return.

Spencer was waiting for him at the curb as he pulled up. Sorry Frederick, I’m afraid some nasty business in New York will extend my day.

Not to worry sir, I am on duty for the next five hours. What is your destination?

I am in a hurry to get back to Vauxhall. I will be there a few hours until we get this sort out.

The adept driver turned the specially armored Jaguar XJ 180 degrees and accelerated above the set speed limit.

Spencer was on his encrypted cell phone, George, we are on our turn about trip. Have you any more details of the UN event?

Sorry sir, the details remain sketchy at best. It appears that the President was struck by the a neurotoxin like the poison used in the Admiral Johnson assassination.

I need to have you locate the file containing the detailed neurotoxin analysis of the poison used in Admiral Johnson’s assassination on my desk and immediately send it directly to Frank Thomas, FBI Director. I will follow-up with a phone call. Thanks George. Spencer ended the call and hit his contacts list to locate Frank Thomas. A moment later he rang up the close friend.

Thomas’s distinctive Boston accent answered the call on the second ring, Nothing gets by you Brit spooks does it? How are you doing Spencer?

I know you are busy and up to your ears in this nasty attack, so I will make this short. I have my Deputy Director, George Hallwick sending you our in-depth laboratory analysis of the neurotoxin that killed Admiral Johnson. I hope it is helpful in your investigation.  I will be in my office for the next few hours if you have any need for your people to follow-up with our laboratory toxicologist.

Thanks Spencer, I will forward the analysis on to Quantico. I will give you a ring when things slow down a bit. This attack was nasty indeed. I hope we have seen the last use of neurotoxin, but fear that is only a pipe dream. Take care! Thomas ended the call as the driver pulled up to the guardhouse of the SIS Albert Embankment underground parking entrance.

Rodney waved to the guard as the barricade slide down and he eased the Jaguar past the secure entrance into the massive parking area stopping adjacent to the executive elevator.

Thank you Rodney, that is all for now. Spencer opened the car door.

Your welcome sir, I hope have a fruitful evening.

Spencer nodded to acknowledge the comment as he pressed his identification badge containing his DNA to the elevator scanner. The elevator button turned green as the door opened. Spencer entered and disappeared as the stainless steel door closed silently.

Chapter 6: A Series of Reprehensible Attacks

    Monday, May 18, 6:09 pm EDT (UTC/GMT-6)

    Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York

Phil Jablonski was a fanatical Yankee’s fan since the age of three. In actuality his dad had taken pictures of him in a blue Yankee hat four days after his birth. Out of the blue, Phil received an anonymous surprise in the mail the previous day.  When he looked at the envelope there was no return address, the stamp had been cancelled the previous day in the Bronx, NY.  He was tempted to just rip the envelope up when at the last moment he felt something strange inside. His curiosity got the best of him.  He opened the envelope and found a Yankee Field MVP Club Level ticket in a plastic MVP blue lanyard. The extremely expensive ticket was beyond anything he would ever splurge on. The envelope contained nothing else inside. Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, he thought about selling the ticket, but ultimately he decided to use it as a once in a lifetime experience and scalp his grandstand ticket.

Phil arrived on Anderson Avenue, a block away from Yankee Stadium at 5:45 pm to sell his extra ticket. Immediately, four Red Sox fans approached him looking for an extra ticket to the game. After a brief negotiation, he sold his $28 ticket for a hundred dollars. The nice little profit would cover his tickets for the next few games. Once he entered the stadium VIP entrance, Herb Nero, a thirty-four year Yankee usher, escorted Phil to his MVP seat at 6:05 pm. Phil was excited at his amazing seat. I have been a huge Yankee fan my entire life. I have never been in a Field MVP seat. Can you clue me in on any MVP benefits?

Sure, first you have full field access behind the batting cage for the next forty minutes.  Herb actually enjoyed giving the explanation to the fan. As you can see batting practice just started.

You also have access to the MVP Lounge and have an assigned Yankee Girl taking your refreshment order through out the game. Let me know if I can help you in anyway. Enjoy the game.  Herb smiled and moved back up the aisle.

Phil stepped down one row and to his right forty-feet to a small
