About this ebook
“Fans of Scottish lore or bookstore mysteries like Lorna Barrett’s and Carolyn Hart’s will enjoy this one.”—Booklist
Thanks to the Western Maine Highland Games, Moosetookalook, Maine, has never seen so many bare legs walking its streets. But instead of wondering who’ll win the hammer throw, everyone’s asking who got kilt. Especially Liss MacCrimmon, purveyor of the town’s Scottish Emporium, since it’s also her wedding weekend. And nothing scotches up nuptial bliss like a dead body.
But who’d go medieval on a professor, no matter how nutty? As much as Liss tries to keep her fingers out of the sleuthing cake, she finds herself again dead center of a Moosetookalook murder mystery. If Liss doesn’t solve this one, and quick, she might never say “I do,” let alone “’til death do us part”…
“Filled with gems of Scottish history and culture, this intelligent entry will appeal to newcomers and established fans alike.”—Publishers Weekly

Author
Kaitlyn Dunnett
Kaitlyn Dunnett first caught the Scottish heritage bug when her husband learned to play the bagpipes. Many Scottish festivals and parades later, and after a brief stint as bass drummer with a bagpipe band, she decided to combine her love of things Scottish with her love of writing. The Liss MacCrimmon mysteries are the result. Kaitlyn lives on a Christmas tree farm in the mountains of western Maine.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Liss is caught up in the final month plans before her wedding to Dan which is to be held in conjunction with the Highland Games in Moosetookalook. Her mom is interfering in the plans. When a professor from a nearby college is found murdered after Liss' father pays him a visit, he becomes a suspect, and Liss naturally wants to work to clear his name. This episode is a bit different because Gordon Tandy is not the investigator. Liss consults an attorney who hires a private eye that is a rather interesting character. I find enough charm in the series to keep reading it. I'd like to see Liss and the private eye team up together in a future installment. There's a bit of a hint at the end of the book as to what Liss' next investigation might be.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In Dunnett’s mystery novel, Liss MacCrimmon, owner of the town’s Scottish Emporium, is planning her wedding. Just weeks away from the blessed event, Liss’ father is accused of murdering her mother’s former professor and lover. Unable to focus on her wedding until she clears her father, Liss can’t help but launch her own investigation. Amongst a variety of twists and turns, Liss persists in the investigation determined to solve it before the hour of her wedding vows despite the danger creeping up on her.A fabulous addition to the A Liss MacCrimmon Scottish Mystery.
