    Tonight I saw the worst comedian ever, Scott Shipley.

    The tweet, by a mate of mine called Paul about another mate of mine seemed harsh. Like he was criticising my sexual prowess while simultaneously having explosive sex with my ex. I didn’t want to reply but it felt like he was goading me. I did try to be diplomatic.

    Comedy is subjective. He won’t be everyone’s taste.

    He isn’t anyone’s taste. He’s shit.

    Being honest, it was a something I’d heard said by others. But it’s different hearing it from a mate, isn’t it? You’d hope they’d understand.

    Over the years I’ve shared a few stages with Shipley at various venues around the country. We’ve even shared car journeys to gigs a few times. It feels enough for me to call him a mate. I’m not sure he’d feel the same.
