Alien Love Goddess – Anger o

The Druq awoke with a start. Kgtra was snoring softly on his left. With her eyes closed she looked very human. He smiled. Her tanned skin even glistened in her sleep. Then he frowned. How could he manage this? She couldn’t stay here. He’d have to keep her close and under his gaze. Then he got an idea. His eyes flashed with realization and he smiled.

Reaching for his nightstand, he noticed something he hadn’t seen the night before. There was a red feather on the nightstand. He stared at it. It glistened. The glow coming off of it was almost neon-like. He moved closer to it. His eyes struggled to refocus in the light. He pondered. What was it? His basic instincts to him not touch it. His hand extended. His eyes floated to the lovely woman lying next to him. Her face carried a dry smile. He smiled as well.

He got up to shower. Going into the instant scale cleaner, he stood nude. His body was beat with 8 ionic charges. These removed dead skin and scales from this body. The last cycle added a perfume-like vapor that was ionized at the gross charge of a living body – making it stick like human deodorant. He put on his military uniform and reported for his morning meeting.

The captain and the others were speaking in hushed tones in his quarters. His eyes never met the captain’s. He was ashamed of all that had happened. The Druq was known as a proud man and a highly proper officer.

The captain could subtly sense that something was very wrong, but he continued to plug through his meeting. Xist could feel the eyes in the meeting climb all over him. He sat slumped. He never sat slumped. Then the captain addressed him.

Druq, I want you to take a squad out and install Ballast 7 rockets in the Sol ord cloud.

The Druq’s eyebrows (what there were of them) went up. The room hushed up.

    ..Are you sure?

    Very sure…

The engineering Clow rubbed his brow. Doing something like this meant that the captain was expecting big trouble. The captain had just said in an indirect way that he expects to go to war. Everyone got nervous. The Druq’s assignments were always the most important. Everyone paid attention to them. Their work always revolved around his. Being Druq was a high honor. Installing Ballast 7 rockets on the ord cloud (the asteroid belt at the outskirts of the solar system) only meant one thing – war with an intelligent race. Everyone waited for the next very important question.

What payload do you want us to load?

I want all payloads – conventional, anti-matter, neutron, mu-meson and gamma.

    Gamma! the engineering Clow blurted.

The gamma payload was still an experimental payload. So far the largest neutron explosions were 100 trillion electron-volts. The gamma payload was considered an experimental weapon designed to emulate supernova that emitted their power as invisible, yet high-powered gamma rays. Gamma rays are the second-most intense high-energy form of electromagnetic radiation, they are formed by fission and fusion processes and move through the galaxy passing through almost everything around. They often knock DNA out of its nucleus causing cancer, and have an ionizing effect on most matter they come in contact with. Most planets are protected from this nightmare by atmosphere and magnetic shielding. The highest form of EM radiation known as cosmic rays are very similar to gamma rays, but mass producing them are as of yet not were not within technological reach. But this wonderful task had already been mastered with gamma rays. The gamma warhead was considered extremely dangerous in the corp. No one wanted to handle them or touch them since the accident in Capricorn. There a small contingent that was field testing a gamma warhead. They detonated the warhead on a small moon called Yabo. The team assumed being 3000 kilometers away and having the moon between them and the explosion was sufficient. It wasn’t. The ratings for the warhead were wrong. It was mislabeled. The entire team was cooked. They were didn’t see a flash, or hear an explosion. They all just dropped dead. Scalpan scientists have added a light emitter, and a few extras to help people using the ordinance in the field to identify the unique weapon. But no one had set one off since. Many in the forces were more afraid on the weapon than the enemy. Now they had to go install this nightmare on the asteroid-like planetoids on the very edge of Sol.

    He nodded.

    Are you alright?

You know the reputation of these gamma warheads.

What else do we have that can destroy a Colony ship in a single blow?

    The weapons Clow gasped.

You planning to go to war with the Depp?

    The captain folded his arms.

Don’t you think we should defend Earth if their prime minister is killed?

So we are on high alert?

The captain nodded with an angry look.

    "Dismissed…everyone except you
