About this ebook
Framed for the murder of his fiancée, Friedrich Hoffmann is sentenced to death. Broken on the wheel in front of a jeering crowd, he awakens on a lab table, transformed into an abomination. Disoriented, he begins to piece together where he is, what’s become of him, and the identity of the unholy man responsible for his monstrous plight.
Friedrich must go far to take his revenge—only to find his tormentor, Victor Frankenstein, in league with the Marquis de Sade, at work on an even more sinister creation deep in the mountains. Paranormal and gripping in the tradition of Stephen King and Justin Cronin, Monster is a gruesome parable of control and vengeance, and a tribute to one of literature’s greatest legends.
“An impressive achievement . . . You don’t get much more gothic bang for your buck.” —Los Angles Times

Reviews for Monster

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you've ever felt sorry for the monster and disgust towards Frankenstein, this book is for you. Here Frankenstein has built his creature using the brain of an educated man embedded in his cobbled-together miscreation, but against expectations, the brain has retained its memories and personality. The murdered man was a young scientist, falsely accused of murdering his fiancee and killed on the rack for it. He awakens in the laboratory, unable to understand what has been done to him. Basically a decent person before his death, he struggles to maintain those values even as he wonders if he has imagined his previous life and is, indeed, one of Satan's minions. Eventually he is able to track Frankenstein and work his vengeance. How I cheered for him the whole way! I'd recommend reading the original "Frankenstein" first, but do treat yourself to this vicarious retribution afterwards.
