About this ebook

Artist Kristin Llamas (her real name) has been drawing adorably odd portraits of llamas for years. Inspired by a name and her affection for these delightfully expressive animals, she creates detailed, personality-rich portraits in her realistic and humorous black-and-white style. The results are charming and funny, raising the question, which llama are you? Some mornings are Claire mornings. Allyn, we know just how you feel.... This smile of a gift book collects 60 of Llamas's most amusing and endearing portraits, pairing them with biographical quips and jewel-tone color washes to capture these llamas' quirky inner lives, and our own.

This is a fun book with beautiful illustrations of llamas and descriptions of their personalities, so that you see that llamas are really just like us. Each illustration is lovely and conveys the individuality of the llama. The names assigned have been recommended, and the author creates short statements for each to describe them. It would make a great gift book for a llama lover.

A beautiful book full of llama drawings. Each llama has a name and a caption, almost like someone's Instagram account focused entirely on llama drawings. I did the Romper Room thing and looked for my name but didn't find it. Guess I'll have to draw my own llama. Definitely a fun, whimsical way to spend an afternoon. Anthropomorphic all around.

This is a thoroughly charming book, as engaging for adults as for kids. The amount of life and personality that Llamas breathes into every drawing makes it a joy to thumb through. The captions are clever, capturing tiny little slivers of human nature. You can really see how they are echoed by every llama!A great gift book for llama-lovers, or anyone who enjoys art of animals who look almost human.

[Como te Llamas] ranks right up with [FIND MOMO] as a great fun book for all ages -and the drawings are a real treasure!Definitely one of Chronicle's best gift books, it inspires both conversation and art.It would also be welcome to see a charity auction or raffle where kid's names could be submitted for a drawing.

No story here, really a delightful, whimsical collection of very well-drawn and detailed line drawings of llamas, a huge pun on the author's last name, Llamas. Title is a pun also, the Spanish for "What is your name?" The drawings show llamas with various facial expressions and physical appearances, with a caption supposedly showing the inner thought or impression of each animal. I felt the book was too long, although pictures were creative. Sometimes captions had some kind of sense and more often not.

Really lovely detailed illustrations, but the novelty quickly wears off. It's a surprisingly long book with limited text--names and quick descriptions of the llamas. A little more variety to the text and detail might have made it more interesting.
