About this ebook
FRANCIS PLUG is back. The lovable misfit is now adjusting to life as a newly published author. Interviews and publicity are coming his way, not to mention considerable acclaim. But Francis can’t understand why people think he was writing fiction...
He also has plenty of other problems – and very little money. Fortunately, he’s handed a lifeline when he lands a job as Writer-in-Residence at the University of Greenwich. Unfortunately, this involves interacting with more new people, which isn’t exactly Francis’s strong suit. Try as he might, the staff and students at the university seem to have great difficulty knowing what to make of Francis. (Not to mention the trouble that he has making sense of himself...). Oh – and now he also needs to hook in some big-name authors for the Greenwich Book Festival, and has to write his own campus novel.
The urgent questions build and build – and Francis is in no state to answer them Will he keep his job? Will he be able to secretly sleep inside a university office? Will anyone find out that he did a wee in the corridor? ... Find out as Francis embarks on a new adventure, more intoxicating and hilarious than ever.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Francis Plug is back. He is now a published author of a novel that has been characterized as “silly”. But it’s enough to get him a one-year post as Writer-in-Residence at the University of Greenwich. He just lacks the ability to teach creative writing students and, strangely, also the ability to write. However, he does know what he would like to write — a campus novel! And, fortunately, since he has taken the “residence” portion of his new position literally, he should be able to get down to work very soon. All he will need is a pint or two or perhaps a wee dram of Cutty Sark Whisky. Or some wine. Now where was he, what was he meant to be doing?Paul Ewen has once again brought Francis Plug joyfully to life. And despite Francis’ taste for the drink, he manages the research portion of writing his new novel with aplomb. Chapter by chapter Francis canvases a vast array of campus novels for inspiration and insight — all duly signed, with best wishes, by their authors. It’s a whirlwind tour of literary events and campus novel plot points. And if it doesn’t all turn out the way Francis hopes, he can hardly be held accountable. As delightful as its predecessor, and just as fabulously silly. Recommended for friends.
