About this ebook

Strength Will Not Save, But Love Just Might!

A tree is torn from his forest home and all that he loves, but there is courage in the heart of a little boy to protect his belovèd tree.

The author dreamt up this story after witnessing the abandonment of trees on city sidewalks after Christmas, but here his invention of a magical journey for one such tree will transport you through time and space and otherworldly encounter, even to the throne of God.

In the tradition of our timeless fairy tales, and now joined by the author's captivating narration, The Christmas Tree is a testament to love in this world and the next.

"Lyrical, spiritually enchanting, this little story… becomes an important part of our literature."

I read the edition illustrated by Robert Ingpen and was disappointed. There is no plot, just a weird list of what can be found in the tree: toys, sweets, and ghost stories, and, finally, a page alluding to the story of the Christ child. Maybe a scholar or fan of Dickens would get more out of the text. Maybe someone with better eyes would get more out of the pictures. I did not enjoy this.

An oddly meandering reflection, but worth a read if only for the passage on his fear of "the mask."
