TOMMY TOOL BOX is a story with the message that we were all created for a purpose in life, just like tools. The story confronts many life situations e.g. moving, bullying, meaning of friendship, acceptance and many others. At the end of the book there is a list of these life skills which may prompt the reader to find them as an activity. Children are faced with many emotional challenges in society today and may not feel that they fit in or not needed, but just like tools everyone has a different purpose. The friendly colorful images are shown throughout the story as a reminder of who is speaking and could be read with different personalities. One of the tools already has a speech impediment which already adds to the variation of the characters. A wonderful book to be read by all or for a discussion within a group.

James HendelI am not an accomplished author, but wanted to express my support and understanding to which our children/youth feel in society today. What depths of despair and worthlessness pushes someone to take their life or to make them feel useless among their peers.With such thoughts and my love for carpentry, I associated the two together and wrote this short story with the theme that everyone was created for a purpose in life just like tools. Throughout the book there are hidden life skills which can be discovered and discussed in a family or in a group.I am married with one son and have a loving extended large family in Canada. I enjoyed travelling, fishing and woodworking in my spare time. I like the saying: If you can, why not? If you can't, so what. Not everything has to be perfect in life.
