About this ebook
Having his heart’s deepest desires realised at long last, Anthony believes he has finally found his happiness in the man he had once only dreamed of making his own.
However, a dark cloud hangs over his head as he fears that his indiscretion will be discovered and that he’ll be sent far away from the master he adores, but little does he know that Gabriel is not done with him just yet.
Meanwhile, with a strapping young townsman vying for Anthony’s affections - much to Gabriel’s dismay - the quiet life of Springview Manor’s inhabitants is disrupted by jealousy, and ultimately, tragedy.

CHAPTER ONE
The sun streaming into the stable woke Anthony. A blanket covered his body but he quickly realized that he was lying on the straw alone.
Gabriel?
he called softly, already knowing he wouldn't get the response he wanted. Only the neighing of a horse replied. He pulled the blanket around his shoulders, shivering in a sudden draught.
The stable door opened and Jim called out. Anthony? Are you in here?
Readjusting his trousers, Anthony struggled out of the straw, groaning as he could still feel the after-effects of Gabriel's strong hand on his behind. Yes,
he called back with an edge of annoyance.
Where have you been? It's past eight. Mr Beaumont is furious the horses haven't been exercised this morning.
Jim stood by the open door, nervously chewing his lip. You better have a good excuse.
Anthony buried his face in his hands. He is going to kill me.
He threw the blanket off his shoulders and made to leave to stable. Jim grabbed his arm to stop him.

Carlyle!
Anthony cringed at the sound of his name. The Butler, Jos, called for him from the pantry.
Master demands your presence.
I know, I know,
Anthony groaned, wandering through the kitchen, Jim told me. I'm going to be dismissed, aren't I?
You are already on notice. It's not looking good.
Jos replied honestly, not looking away from his work where he sat stitching a stray button back onto his tailcoat.
Anthony sighed and trudged up the stairs to the main entrance hall, leaving a small trail of straw in his wake. He knocked on Mr Beaumont's library door.
Come!
He knew this could mean the end of his days on the estate. Much to his surprise, Gabriel was with Mr Beaumont. His clothes were perfect and unwrinkled, his hair neat with no sign of having spent a rough night in a stable.
Carlyle, my son has been informing me of what happened last night.
Anthony whipped his head up to face Gabriel, his eyes wide with surprise. He swallowed hard. Surely Gabriel wouldn't implicate himself. He tried the neutral approach, by not saying much at all.
Yes, Sir?
Yes,
said Mr Beaumont, walking around the desk to stand in front of Anthony. The older man didn't cut quite the imposing figure his son did, but Anthony still felt about three
