I fucking can’t believe this is happening. Laney Edwards fanned her face as she peered at her reflection in the bathroom mirror. She bent forward to blot her smudged eyeliner with shaking hands and debated lip gloss before settling on her favorite balm instead. She’d snagged a few minutes to collect herself after running—no, plowing—over Gavin Riggs, the lead singer of her favorite band The Naked Truth.

The small tube slipped from her fingers and clattered into the tiny sink of the tour bus. Damn. Pull your shit together. This is your only chance to live out the dream you’ve had since you first saw him sing. Most girls would be all over that, and you’re cowering in the john like a fan girl. Time to suck it up, literally.

Laney snorted at her tasteless analogy and fluffed her bangs from her damp forehead. A loud rap on the door made her jump, and she managed to swallow the squeak that bubbled from her chest. Keep your pants on. I’m almost done.
