About this ebook

LOVE AND LOSS is a collection of flash fiction stories that I wrote for my classes at Full Sail University.

The book contains four unique stories about love and loss experienced by broken people. They vary in genre. The eBook contains romance, fantasy, suspense, horror, and tragedy but they are all centered around love or loss of love and what comes after loss and grief. The stories are beginner level, and each one is 500+ words.

“Fairy Dust” is a dark fantasy that follows Liam on his quest to find the magical being that can bring his late wife back to life. He is led through a forest and into mirror gate into a fantasy world full of fairies and magic! Will he honestly do anything it takes to bring his wife back to life and make amends for breaking her heart?

“Someday” is a romantic tragedy that follows two young friends Candace and Chase in a car ride that will change their lives forever. Candace loves Chase with all her heart, and though he is always coming to her rescue, he insists that they never cross the line from friendship to lovers. This is a flash fiction story about love, fear of commitment and regret.

“Tripping Falls” is the authors attempt to meld fantasy and reality. The story follows Willa through what seems to be a vibrant, colorful fantasy world but all is not as it seems. Nearby a massive dire wolf watches her intently.

“Widow’s Paradox” is a chilling horror story that tells the tale of a grieving widow who could not cope with her husband’s death. She is isolated in her elegant townhouse battling PTSD, anxiety, and paranoia. She has undergone years of therapy and spend months in a mental health facility rambling about conspiracy theories. Was her treatment successful? Or more importantly, was it necessary?

    FAIRY DUST

The large oak trees swayed with the force of the wind as a storm raged over the dense forest. Liam trekked through the woods, an old oil lantern in hand. His boots sinking deep into the deep mud with each step he took. Liam eyed every tree, every branch, and every log. It's here, I know it's here, he thought.

Liam took a left to avid a roaring river and stopped before a large oak tree that was creating a fork between two roads. He pulled a perfectly oval stone out of his backpack and held it under the lamp-light. An image of a map of the forest began to swirl
