Tiffany laughed. "I can’t believe that my best friend in this entire world is here with me today. You live in Toronto, Canada for heaven sakes. What are you doing here?

Sylvia smiled. I’m here on fashion business, and I’m here for a month, and besides, you’re getting married in two weeks. Did you expect me to send over your dress and not show up?

My best friend is a famous fashion designer for all the celebrities, so I’m sure you are busy as hell. I would understand if you couldn’t make my wedding. I’m so happy for you.

Sylvia frowned. You know damn well you'd kick my ass if I didn't show up for the most important day of your life. I can't believe my best friend is marrying Jeff Tobias. Do you know he's going to be the Senator of Illinois one of these days? Not only is Jeff Tobias a billionaire, but he’s going to make changes for this city and then some.

Tiffany blushed and frowned. I’m still pinching myself left and right. I work for his law firm, but paralegals are on another floor, so I never see the big boss. When he cornered me for Thanksgiving and invited me to his family home, I was flabbergasted. I’m so in love with him, Sylvia. Where has he been all my life? It’s been a year of happiness. Now it’s May again, and we’re getting married on a Monday of all days. I’m going to be Mrs. Jeff Tobias in two weeks.

Miracles do happen, Sylvia said. His sisters get their fashions from me. I have over three thousand clients and then some. I’m a very busy woman, but I’m never too busy for my best friend.

Tiffany smiled.

I love your condo in Lombard. You always wanted a three-bedroom condo. I'm so thrilled for you. It's gorgeous, and I love your office where you can write your books and be happy. Now you're going to share your life with a handsome and rich man.

Sylvia it’s not about the money. I have my own now.

I know but imagine never having to work again in your life, or spend your time shopping online, which is what you like to do. A girl can dream from time to time. You never know.

Tiffany frowned. Is everything okay with you? I'm going to get a bottle of wine for us, and some more pretzel treats. I’ll be right back. I’m going to run into the kitchen.

I’m not going anywhere, Sylvia cried.

Ten minutes later Sylvia and Tiffany were munching on grapes, cheese, and pretzels. These little snacks are nice, Sylvia pointed out. I love the square cheeses.
