About this ebook

There are moments in a believer's life that require that the believer puts his or her faith to work. One such moment is when you are compelled to exercise faith to overcome the symptoms of sickness. The exercise of faith in this instance becomes a "fight of faith" especially when the symptoms linger and don't disappear immediately. The "fight" becomes even more intense in cases where an ailment appears to make a comeback after you were healed of it. When the exercise of faith escalates into a fight of faith with regards to your health, your response must be - 'Don't Mind The Body. Ignore the "lying symptoms" and keep your focus on the Word of God you are standing on to affirm your healing. The devil loves to manipulate the body with sickness to create doubts in the mind about the efficacy of the Word and the power of God. But stand fast on the Word of liberty by which Christ has made believers free. For He who the Son makes free from sickness is free indeed.

    Chapter 1

    The Obsession Trap

Obsession is the devil’s means of establishing evil circumstances in the lives of people. He gets people obsessed by getting them irrationally preoccupied with his suggestions and lies. To get them to that point, he oppresses them with bad thoughts and in the case of sickness, symptoms of the sickness to get their attention.

Once he get’s your attention, he plants his evil seed in your mind and leaves the rest to you. At this point you can either uproot this seed with the Word of God or nurture it into manifestation with ungodly thinking. Unfortunately many people are unable to uproot the evil seed but rather become obsessed with it.

Your obsession is the fertilizer the devil needs to grow the evil seed planted in you into a full-blown sickness or adversity. The devil is able to destroy and kill if he gets people obsessed with what he seeks to destroy them with. Therefore you must avoid becoming obsessed with challenging circumstances when they come your way. Should sickness come calling don’t get obsessed with the sickness or the symptoms it presents. You must avoid OBSESSION at all costs.

Don’t Mind The Body seeks to caution people about becoming obsessed with the devil’s lies. Many have been overcome by sickness because they became obsessed with the devil’s inspired thoughts.

Don’t Mind The Body is not advocating rejecting medical intervention when one is confronted with the symptoms of a sickness. I encourage people to seek all the help they can get including medical treatment. But you can receive medical treatment without becoming obsessed with what’s going wrong inside your body. Give your attention to the Word of God even in the middle of seeking medical attention.

Don’t live in denial of any symptoms that attack your body. That’s not what Don’t Mind The Body is about. Don’t hesitate to confront a bad situation with the appropriate remedies at your disposal. But don’t become obsessed and fearful. Don’t go to bed thinking about the symptoms and wake up doing same.

That will be playing into the devil’s hands. The devil is the author of all diseases. Even sicknesses one may be tempted to call self-inflicted are indirectly linked to him. The truth is that the devil often uses your own power against you because he has been disarmed of his by Christ.

    Colossians 2:15

    Having DISARMED principalities and powers

He (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them (the devil and his foot soldiers)

    Triumphing over them in it

What the devil is left with is the power of suggestion. He suggests things to people and leaves them to empower them into manifestation with their negative confessions and imagination. Believers are more powerful than they realize. Few of them know they have the ability to create the fruit of their lips – confess things into manifestation. But the devil knows this and uses it to deceive people into harming themselves.

Obsession generates wrong confessions and wrong confessions facilitate serious consequences including death. Death and life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21). Be wise and don’t confirm and claim any sickness as yours, even if presented with a medical report. Treat the symptoms but don’t claim the sickness.

Don’t Mind The Body is also not advocating that people renege on taking care of their bodies. Eat well, exercise adequately and have enough rest. Your body is God’s property and you need to take good care of it. You must tend and keep it well.

    1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Or do you not know that your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit

Who is in you, whom you have from God

And you are not your own?

For you were bought at a price

THEREFORE GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY AND IN YOUR SPIRIT

    WHICH ARE GOD’S

The goal of this book is to help people beat the devil’s obsession trap. You will get better focusing on the Word of God but you only get worse focusing on the lies of the devil.

    Chapter 2

Respond To Sickness With Righteous Anger

What do you do when a sickness tries to creep up on you? What do you do when you suddenly feel unwell and are told by your doctor you’re exhibiting symptoms of a terminal disease? What should be your response if that should happen to you? If that should happen let anger and not fear be your first reaction. Why anger? You should be angry that a spirit of infirmity has the temerity to come near the Temple of God and announce its presence. Doesn’t it know you are the Temple of God?

    1 Corinthians 6:19

    Or do you not know

That your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you?

Whom you have from God and you are not your own?

    2 Corinthians 6:16

…For you are the Temple of the Living God

As God has said I will dwell in them and walk among them

I will be their God and they shall be My people

Be angry, very angry that an impudent spirit of infirmity should attempt to defile the Temple of the Living God with sickness. Be angry in your spirit like David was when Goliath taunted the Army of the Living God. Respond to the symptoms in the same manner David reacted to the taunts of Goliath.

    1 Samuel 17:26

Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying

What shall be done for the man who kills
