No self respecting woman will admit to being anything but over forty. I live in Missouri (pronounced Missoura) with my husband and my little hobby farm. It includes five dogs, three cats, two guinea pigs, and about forty chickens and ducks. It keeps me very busy. I like being busy because it doesn't give me time to think about the bad things in life. I lost my leg in 2013 do to a military problem. It's complicated. Moving out here was the best thing we could have done. I don't miss the cold nor the snow of Maine. I started the writing thing in 2004. In actuality I have been writing since I was 12. Mostly it was poems until I read Fifty Shades. Then I decide I could do that. So, here we are. I write erotica, romance, clean romance and ya.

    DEDICATION

To my husband Jason; I love you so much. Thank you for standing beside me and always supporting my dreams

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I would like to acknowledge all my PennedCon friends. They stand beside me and keep me going. They also pushed me to be better.

    Prologue

The cold steel pressing against my throat was held by a scrawny man. Duncan had been sent to dispatch my life. I pushed my neck even tighter against the blade. I was not going down without a fight, even knowing the odds were against me. My pride wouldn’t let me give in. The warm blood trickling down my collar and soaking my white t-shirt didn’t matter. This would all be over soon.

Take my life, if you dare! I snarled at him.

I don’t want to do this, Seraphine.

But you were going to just the same. The confusion in my attacker’s eyes was just the moment I needed. Quicker than I had ever moved before, I grabbed the blade with my bare hands. It cut me deep, but didn’t slow my attack. I stood, spun, and drove the tip of the blade into his heart. He couldn’t scream or even react. He simply fell to the ground, dead. Served them right. They should have never sent a baby to kill me. Didn’t they know I’ve lived for a thousand years? I would make them pay. Each and every member of the Duncan Coven would die. I swore it by spitting blood on the ground. Swearing a curse was something I had tried never to do. Once it was done, it couldn’t be undone. The smoke filled the air as the magic took hold, and then, I disappeared.

    Chapter 1

    One hundred years later

I walked along the dirt path, minding my own business. I was getting very good at blending into the nothing around me. People passed by me without slowing down or even noticing. They had lives that didn’t involve a stranger with dark hair and a menacing sword strapped to her side. The hustle and bustle of the city wasn’t to my liking. Moving through the smaller hamlets in the country fit me better. The years had taught me well how to blend in. That was the name of the game when your mission was assassination.

When I killed the boy, Graden Duncan, a hundred years ago I couldn’t have imagined it taking this long to track down the rest of his coven. There were only six members left of the once one hundred and fifty. It had kept me busy. Other covens had no reason to fear me, I was simply their creator. The Duncan clan feared me so much they took to becoming part of more rural communities. They tried to blend, but I smelled them miles away. When I swore my oath, their scent bound itself to me. They suffered for trying to defy me. Even if it took all eternity, I would complete this task.

Another two cars passed me by before the town came into view. It had rained for days here, so staying dry wasn’t an option.
