Laisha

I bet you have a beautiful smile.

Covering her mouth with her right hand, Laisha Bowman giggled like a schoolgirl before typing her reply.

Says who? 

She was way too shy to talk face-to-face with anyone about anything except business and a good book.

She had been chatting with Techy4Christ for four weeks and every time they talked online, no matter what they were talking about, he made her heart skip a beat. What is it about this man whose real name I don’t even know, that makes me feel this way? I wish I knew, she wondered.  Laisha Bowman was a thirty year old single gal who shared a moderately-sized condo with a goldfish; no kids, no man, no roommate, just her and the goldfish. She spent her days climbing the corporate ladder at a Fortune 500 advertising company. Most of her evenings were spent in front of the computer within the confinement of her home or with her nose in an engaging novel. Other than church, and her weekly Sistahz Only Book Club meetings, indulging in her online persona: Bountifully Blessed Sista was the highlight of her life. She wished she was vibrant as her online persona.

On paper, her life looked like it was all pulled together. Laisha was up for a promotion at work and on the career path of her dreams. Imagine, a Southern gal from Asheville, North Carolina, an executive-in-the-making at a major advertising company in beautiful Atlanta.

She already owned a home, a fairly new car, and even some rental property. She’d never been married and had no kids, so, her life was free of the baby-daddy drama. Standing at five foot five, Laisha had an adorable face with sweet, smiling eyes and was very curvaceous. Sadly she was unable to see and appreciate her appearance. What man wanted a woman who weighed as much as she did?

She used to enjoy the single life. It’s just moments like this when she missed the feeling of a man most. And right now, Techy4Christ was looking kinda good to a girl who hadn’t been on a date in a year. Laisha has never been attracted to a white man before and it felt kind of weird, but she liked him. Well, at least what she knew of him so far.
