The Chaos Club - MC Biker Romance - Kelly Cusson

    The Chaos Club

    Chapter 1

Victoria couldn’t remember a lot from her youth. She couldn’t recall her school life, or her childhood friendships. She couldn’t even remember the family trip that they’d taken to Disneyland when she was twelve years old, even when her parents kept trying to remind her.

The only thing that was clear in her mind was the members of the infamous Chaos Club, the biker gang that had been her friends, and her adoptive family for her whole life. All she could clearly recall was motorbikes, leathers, and heavily tattooed men. The people that others feared and shied away from were the only people in the world that Vicky had ever felt safe with.

Vicky’s brother, who was eleven years older than her, had joined the gang when she was just a child, and that was it for her. That was her life. She’d never known any different, and that had been absolutely fine by her.

She knew that she was a surprise baby - which was a given considering the age difference between her and Ben - so she’d never really felt wanted at home, with her uber strict parents. The only place she’d truly felt a real part of was the club. They were the only ones that she really felt would have her back no matter what.

Which was why no one understood why she’d made the rash decision to up and leave the second she’d hit eighteen years old. She’d just run away without even leaving a note, not looking back even once. She’d gone to start a new life, one that didn’t involve The Chaos Club, or anyone within it. In fact, she’d gone as far as to cut off all contact with pretty much everyone that had been in her life up until that point.

It had been a surprise to her brother, to the club, and to her family. The only one who wasn’t shocked was Vicky. It was something that she’d been planning for a while, something she felt like she needed to do to live the life that she’d always desired.

Everyone had assumed that she would end up with Trix as soon as she was ready to have a relationship – a prominent member of The Chaos Club who was six years older than her. She had always assumed as much herself. He was attentive, loving, and could protect her no matter what. Even her brother approved of him, and he didn’t like anyone around his little sister.

It had all been very innocent before she’d left, she had admired him for years, whereas he’d only really noticed her as she’d hit adulthood, but just as she was about to finally get that kiss that she’d spent her whole life dreaming about, just as all of her life’s desires were about to come true, she’d vanished into oblivion.

As she started to reach adulthood, a funny thing had happened to her - something that she hadn’t expected at all. She started to feel overwhelmed by the way that her future was headed, and by the fact that it already seemed mapped out for her. She wanted to discover herself, to find out what she really wanted from life, and who she really was. She didn’t feel like she could do that among people who had already shut her in a cardboard box. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to follow the plans of others without feeling like a fake - even if she had always wanted that life.

So she’d packed her bag in the middle of the night and escaped without telling a soul. Then when she’d arrived in the middle of nowhere, she’d sent a simple text to her mom, and that was that.

She’d taken the money that she’d made from her part time job to set herself up in the nearby city, to live a completely different lifestyle to what she was used to. At the time, she’d been excited for it, happy to be doing something out of her comfort zone. She’d congratulated herself on her bravery, and had gone on to carve out another version of her future - one that was just for her.

Eventually, to really go in the opposite direction to where her life had been heading, she ended up marrying Hank – a very serious, extremely sensible man who worked in a bank. He was stable, earned a good wage, and worried about things like savings accounts.

    Nothing like Trix at all.

At first she’d been comfortable with her life, happy to have carved out her very own path, but
