Author

C.K. Aguilar

Candice Aguilar is a novelist, as well as Disabled Veteran of the United States Air Force. She writes contemporary literature focusing on PTSD, depression, and anxiety within the military community. Candice bases these fiction stories on true events in an effort to awaken the denial within society. For the last year she has been enrolled at Full Sail University pursuing her degree in Creative Writing, and has published two short stories with The Scarlet leaf Review. In 2011 and again in 2013, she had a brief stay in a behavioral health hospital. Since then, she has been invested in ways to eliminate the stigma and make military mental health a topic of discussion and improvement, as opposed to shame and embarrassment. Her hobbies include walking through the Farmers Market and Abbey Garden’s on the weekends with her family.
