Straight forward read. For sports bettors, good advice and easy systems to follow. For a average joe going to Vegas for the weekend, easy way to try and get an edge. For a experienced or professional gambler, don’t think I would rely on “just” these systems to make bets, but I did take a few things out of the book that I will put in my arsenal.

Introduction
Often people avoid making a wager on a sports game because it can be complicated. Unlike betting on roulette, craps or hitting the spin button on a slot machine, there are many factors that can go into deciding on which team or horse to bet on. By using a system, the wager is simplified. Even if you don’t normally wager on a specific type of sport, with a system, it is easy to find a good bet. And unlike casino games, you can cheer for a team.
If you are the type of person who enjoys gambling and seems to be losing most of the time, you will find that by using a good system, your betting becomes more disciplined. This alone will cut down on your losses, and by using a good system, you can wind up on the winning side of a wager. But even an occasional bettor will find that using a system can add enjoyment to sports and horse gambling.
This book contains systems and angles for all four of the major sports in the United States. All of these systems have been good to me over the years. The more complex systems form a strong foundation for sports handicapping that can be improved upon by smart handicappers.
I have divided these methods by professional sports first, and then saved college sports for last. This is due to the similarity in the methods used for betting on college football and college basketball.
NFL Football
The Injured Star
My all-time favorite bet in a professional football game is when one team has recently lost a star offensive player. The odds will change quickly when word spreads that an important running back or wide receiver is not playing. The problem with the bettors is that they tend to place too much emphasis on a particular player and fail to understand how important team play is at the professional level.
Rules
1. Only NFL games can be played.
2. The player injured is a running back, wide receiver or tight end. In short, any offensive player that is not a lineman or the quarterback.
3. The player must be a starter and started in last week’s game.
4. Today will be the first game he is missing for any reason.
5. The bet is on the team missing the starting offensive player, regardless of whether the team is the favorite or the underdog.
6. The bet is only on the first game an offensive player misses a game.
Reasoning behind the system
NFL teams are built around a big system, and no one man will make a big difference. The exception is with the quarterback, and that is why this angle excludes the quarterback. It is true that the substitute offensive player will not likely be as good, but he will know the system and the plays. A substitute player will be able to fill in the gap more than the wagering public will realize. This will result in too much money being placed on the other team; therefore, the team with the injured player becomes a good bet.
Tip
Do not get carried away with this angle. It is only good for one game. After this, the public catches on that the team is still competitive without the injured player.
The Hat Trick
This angle is based upon the importance of momentum that exists with football teams.
Rules
1. Any NFL team that has won two games in a row and today is shooting for the third victory is a bet provided that the team is the underdog.
2. If both teams have won two in a row, then the bet is on the underdog.
3. It is important to understand that this only applies to a team that has won two and only two games in a row, so you must go back to the third game back and make sure that the team lost its game. A team that has won several games in a row will show a win in its last two games, but this team does not qualify for a bet.
The reasoning behind the system
This seemingly simple system recognizes the importance of momentum in the NFL, and it is that third game that a professional team will demonstrate this momentum. The public will often overlook this momentum because the team may have beaten weak teams in its last two games or the team has a poor record overall.
Tips
This angle works in the early rounds in the playoffs when there is a qualifying bet. After the first two weeks of the playoffs, you are handicapping teams with more than two wins in a row, and you will not find a bet.
The Quick Line Method
The basis of this quick line method
––––––––
This system is focused on betting the team that is an overlay in the odds. It deals with point spreads only and does not involve betting on totals. A complementary method to this system follows that explains how best to bet totals in NFL games. This system is for betting the line and is designed to be as simple as possible and still remain effective for someone with little time to handicap or not a lot of knowledge. For
