About the Novel: Sanctuary Islands

What could bring Doctor Leickowitz, and his international team of brilliant minds, to these obscured, unexplored islands, lost in the Oceania ocean? But, Marie knows. She is waiting for them in this unspoiled archipelago, forgotten by the world. The question is: will she remember, or care, that she once belonged to the human race? And, will she help the Doctor and his men in their endless fight against nature and themselves, with at this time, a race to save humanity? Let the readers be warned: they will not relish the end!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: I am at the early stage of a writing career. Forever I have been an avid reader, and over the years, stories of my own, have popped into my head. Humbly, but with determination, I have resolved to transfer them on paper. Born in France, I have been from a very young age, fascinated by the English language. Years later, having lived in the USA, I have taken upon myself to write my stories in English, although I also write in French, when I feel the story benefits from it. It has been a challenge, but I have enjoyed every minute of it. At this point, I would be grateful to have the opinion of readers everywhere. As for what genre my writing is? I don't really know, since my stories can differ widely, but all have in common, usually, a specific time period, and death. But, this is why, I really need you, readers, to guide me in this endeavor, and I think we have some interest in common, a really good story.

    Chapter 1.

The Roanarke aircraft carrier was splicing through the waters of the Oceania ocean as fast as the engines would allow. Night was falling at a rapid rate on the gray ocean. The crew for the most part was relaxing, after having their usual dinner. They all knew their mission this time was very special and urgent. Most of them were wondering if their actions were too late already, or if they even had been told the whole story. To them, it all seems so incredible, like running after an nonexistent entity. And what about that special team that had joined them off the coast of Australia? They sure weren’t navy! Citizens all of them, but with brains, authority. All had a sense of gloom and doom and urgency, painted full time on their faces. You knew they had it getting up in the morning, until crashing back to bed at night. We were not to ask them questions. They would not have any answers, anyway. They spend every day in meetings with each other, researching data, discussing their findings, looking for solutions that didn't exist. They were the last hope for the

    survival of mankind.

DOCTOR LEICKOWITZ WAS rubbing his temples, eyes closed, lips open exhaling softly. His thoughts were getting organized. Another day at sea, marooned in that conference quarters, and searching with the other scientists for the key elements needed to save the planet. He was exhausted. Three more days, he was told, and the ship and all his crew, with its international team of brilliant minds, were about to reach their final destination. This meant the answer to their months of research would be at hand. Would  finally arriving there, prove them right? Or send them to nothingness, to the end of the world. Could it be that they had arrived at a point, when men could not save himself, with all the
