About the novel: Memoirs of the Countess d'Orsini
Having settled in Paris, France, after the passing of her husband in Genoa, the Countess d'Orsini endeavors to begin a new life. The court of Versailles under the ruling of the Sun-King, Louis the XIV, proves to be a magnet for all that is magnificent, including its dwellers, as indeed is, our Italian Countess who will ascend and contribute to it, with her wit and beauty. By pure chance, however, she will reacquaint with a traveling companion, Francesco Procopio Dei Coltelli, from Palermo. And, ultimately, the Countess will embrace the young ambitious man, giving her protection and investing in his daring project. It will be a palatial space dedicated to the savoring of the innovative beverage, "café." There, in the lavish decor of the newly open "Procope Café", the Countess will reign along side her successful partner, Sir Procope. During her many years at the Versailles court, and notably at the Procope Café, she will encounter famous and notorious people from the king's entourage, and the talented artists of the period, culminating in a collection of numerous anecdotes. Written with intelligence, compassion and cleverness, but with an objective and a truthful eye, her memoirs will surely enlighten us in the affairs of the heart. Let us read a passage from her memoirs: " I have reminisced a great deal while laying down on paper, these small excerpts relating to my epoch. They are but a small overview of the rich, lively, intriguing, sometimes dark and depressing moments of these times."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: I am at the early stage of a writing career. Forever I have been an avid reader, and over the years, stories of my own, have popped into my head. Humbly, but with determination, I have resolved to transfer them on paper. Born in France, I have been from a very young age, fascinated by the English language. Years later, having lived in the USA, I have taken upon myself to write my stories in English, although I also write in French, when I feel the story benefits from it. It has been a challenge, but I have enjoyed every minute of it. At this point, I would be grateful to have the opinion of readers everywhere. As for what genre my writing is? I don't really know, since my stories can differ widely, but all have in common, usually, a specific time period, and death. But, this is why, I really need you, readers, to guide me in this endeavor, and I think we have some interest in common, a really good story.
