- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I started reading Amanda Lovelace’s work with “Break Your Glass Slippers,” which I loved. As I read more of her books, I kind of feel like once you’ve read one, you’ve read them all.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this book of poems. It was relatable and made me feel things .
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great as always Amanda is just so real and raw !
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Since reading Flower Crowns and Fearsome Things I've decided to read all (or at least most of) Amanda Lovelace's poetry collections. I enjoyed this one a lot more and thought she did a better job of keeping the same high level of imagery throughout her poems. She has such wonderful turns of phrase which seem to perfectly describe feelings and emotions. I'm looking forward to reading the next poetry collection in this duology.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/53.5 stars. Not spectacular but good nonetheless. My favorite by Lovelace thus far.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely lovely. All of Amanda Lovelace's works are heartbreaking and hopeful and fantastic.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I really wanted to like this but didn't. The story was worth telling, but the poems themselves had very little creativity or vividness.

Another Yuletide Book Swap read, and a further piece into checking off having read all pieces by Amanda Lovelace, this was another incredibly divine piece of poetry. I love her books. I love the self-care warnings that come at the front. I love the honesty in her confessions, hopes, dreams, reflections. I love that it's never perfect and owns itself wholly. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely love love love this book... so much that I had to take pictures for myself of a few of the poems because they were completely relatable to what I've been through. Loved the illustrations throughout the book. I definitely pleasantly surprised because I thought the book was about monsters but actually about going through love and the messy breakup of it. A must read for anyone who is going through a break up or divorce.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amanda Lovelace is deeply in touch with her own feelings, and in these pages she lays them bare for us to examine, to prod the depths. Her work has often been mischaracterized by her detractors as overly-simplistic and even asinine, but as Beyoncé once said at the end of Lemonade: “Best revenge is your paper.”
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Authentic & heartfelt. As an abuse survivor this felt utterly real, but beautiful. A parallel to my own journey, beautifully encased. Much recommended. Thank you darling xo

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I purchased this book from Amazon to read. All opinions are my own. ?????to make monsters out of girls by Amanda Lovelace. There is something so raw and soul cleansing I feel after reading a "Lovelace" book. As long as she keeps writing I will keep buying and reading. Yes it may seem a typical, cliche break up story boy meets girl, girl falls in love, yada, yada, but the way she puts words on paper they drip with true hatred, unconditional love and then rebuilding. The words hit home in a way no words other can. They are so dark and deep you can't help but feel new when you close the book. I am looking forward to reading To Drink Coffee With a Ghost this fall!
