    Prologue

I became a mother at a very young age, but Bunus was a very loving, caring, and understanding person. We were both young parents but mature.

After applying for several jobs and failed to be employed, Bunus decided to build a grocery shop on his grandparents land, with permission from his grand-father.

We thought that this would be the most happiest and successful time of our lives as the business was very successful.

Instead it was one of the most horrific time of our lives as we were envied by others, words in the community was that,

We are too young for what we owned and an older person does not have what we have.

Before we opened our business there wasn’t any shops in our area so it was joy to many people specially the elderly.

As most of them have to travel outside of the community for their basics needs, there were also a lot of cattle growers in our community.

They too would travel outside the community for items such as; Ropes, pig feed, nails etc. The day when we decided to stock those items, it was a relieved to the community.

Two years after the opening of our business we experience the most devastating experience one could ever experience.

After the second time of the attacks by gunmen, our lives has never be the same again as we spend the rest of our lives living in fear.

Six years on, and we still struggling to cope with the death of Bunus. Kemar often brake down in tears whenever we are having a talking about his dad.

Jerlene is still unable to use her right hand as it was broken when she was shot by the gunmen.
