About this ebook

In The Golden Sherpa: Ascending into Magical Spirituality, Matthew Krajewski invites spiritual seekers to follow him through a rainbow of heart-based spiritual practices. While one may explore diverse mystical practices, we can all sometimes doubt our authenticity, and need some user feedback to assure us we are cultivating our own special, divine light. Building on ideas from his first book, Modern Magic: Reclaiming Your Magical Heritage, his follow-up book, The Golden Sherpa, details how it truly feels to experience spiritual energy. By teaching ourselves new ways to think by way of the heart, The Golden Sherpa articulates biological, spiritual energy as our true nature, details the light and shadow of energy, as well as ways to passively and actively experience energy. Matthew Krajewski left a successful career in Silicon Valley to embrace being a spiritual writer and teacher, and he uses this journey to explore the struggles and joy we all experience when following our hearts. By following The Golden Sherpa everyone can better understand energetic reality, explore their own magic, and ascend to new heights of integrated living.

    Introduction

T here is a grave imbalance in the world. As with most things, this imbalance has two sides—the side that is winning and the side that is losing. What are these two sides of the experiential scale? They are matter and energy. Matter is winning, and energy is losing. It has been this way for thousands of years. But there are signs that the tide is tu rning.

While this rudimentary view of competing sides can bring understanding of the situation, it does not describe the truth of the spiritual crisis we are experiencing worldwide. For without balance, both types of people on the experiential scale suffer immeasurably. Those sensitives and magical people who experience the world energetically are ostracized and routinely discriminated against. Those that experience the world just physically create a disconnection from actual reality and walk this world in a fog of disillusionment, cynicism, and a nagging feeling that life isn’t right. How immeasurably sad and frustrating for both types of people!

The energetic world is not only routinely ignored, but even labeled as taboo, and in many cases viewed negatively. In our modern world, to be sensitive is to be less than, to be viewed as overly emotional or even self-involved. Moving beyond emotional experience, and to redefine sensitive people as being able to experience all energy fields, reveals why this discrimination against sensitives occurs at all. Sensitives are called weak and emotional, for they are the ones aligned with actual reality. Since they are the minority and not the majority, the majority insists that their false reality is actual reality and ostracize those that experience and feel truth in all creation. The experience of the sensitive, how they experience the world, is dangerous. It calls into question everything we thought we knew about how the world works: as isolated bits of matter with no purpose. For the sensitive, whether they know it or not, the world is an interconnected matrix of ever-present energy. To the untrained sensitive, these energy fields can be overwhelming and bring a confusion and fog very similar to how their matter-based counterparts experience the world. Hence, this is why this dichotomy between the two has rarely been explored: we are all in a disconnected, dis-eased state that, to the untrained eye, appears to be the same weight of the modern world.

But what are sensitive people being asked to do when they are discriminated against? They are being asked to not be themselves. They are being asked to be like others, the others that are mere glimmers of their total self as living beings. Those subscribing to the world of matter as the ultimate reality frequently like to tell sensitives who they are, and that definition is usually a negative assessment designed to make the sensitive person feel that their experience of the world is not important. They tell sensitives to just let the physical world, and all its many machinations and processes, be more important than what sensitives know intuitively to be true about themselves and others. Your credit score; striving for money, property, and cars; what it says on your driver’s license; your weight; your career—somehow all these things are posited as important things. If you are not aligned with these things and the world of matter and dim your own inner light and squash your subtle senses, then you are excluded from the dominant community of matter. In short, you don’t matter if you don’t conform to the rules of the matter-based universe and serve the many false idols associated with it, like money, objects, and the general devaluing of life.

We have all been indoctrinated to align with matter, to align with the physical world. Matter does matter, to use a really bad pun. However, it is just a manifestation of the underlying energetic layer of reality.

We all feel lost. We are all seeking truth and meaning. It really starts with uplifting, protecting, and nurturing sensitive people, whoever they may be. To treat them with the standards of a matter-based universe is to deny their true potential and their abilities to help foster healthy connection amongst people and communities.

It starts with protecting and nurturing sensitives around us. But it also is an exercise to cultivate the sensitive quality we each intrinsically possess. We can all experience the world energetically and bring balance into our own lives, aligning harmoniously with the energetic world and the physical world. It need not be competing sides. It takes time to build bridges and form an armistice so we can all live fuller lives aligned with the actual reality of energy. Unfortunately, we are running out of time. From social and political unrest to apocalyptic environmental change, it is time to play our wild card and ascend into our magical spirituality.

You are your own best guide, for we are all blessed with the ability to attune our sensitivity and activate our subtle senses. However, sensitives like myself can help guide the way, and that is what I aim to do with this book. Let me be your Golden Sherpa, an early incarnate Golden Child that is charging ahead. This book is me calling over my shoulder as I climb the peaks of magical spirituality, encouraging you to follow in my footsteps, a Sherpa for the spirit. I identify with the term Golden Child, since I identify with the many groups of children born since 1979 that have been counted among unique soul groups, like Indigo Children. Sherpa is a term I also identify with since spirituality at this moment in history is tied to ascension, to evolving, and moving into a new way of being, often referred to as the Age of Light or Age of Aquarius.

In my first book, Modern Magic: Reclaiming Your Magical Heritage, I articulated a modern view redefining magic as real, simple, and user-friendly, while inviting readers to discover their own magical heritage. In The Golden Sherpa: Ascending Into Magical Spirituality I will describe what it actually feels like to interact with this magical energy: your own spiritual energy, the spiritual energy of other beings, and the universal energy grid that connects all living creatures. To engage a new magical spirituality, we must become more conscious of energy, take responsibility for our own energy, and fine-tune our subtle senses. We are conditioned in childhood to squash our subtle senses. As we move from childhood to adulthood, we are encouraged to abandon imaginary friends, forsake playtime, and forget how to let our hearts guide us to our own bliss. Magical spirituality is not something new to be learned, just something we have forgotten. And the possibilities of how we can ascend our spirits and bring magic into this world are infinite.

Emotional reality and spiritual reality are one in the same. Our emotional experience can foster relationships, heal ourselves and others, create miracles, and transform our very reality. We know this because everyone has experienced this, some in smaller capacities than others. I believe we get scared of our hearts very easily, hence why we discourage emotional expression and sensitivity and stigmatize bleeding hearts as illogical. But a heart’s energetic signature is far more powerful than a mind’s¹, and we have all forsaken its true power and destiny.

Our emotions form dense strings of invisible biophotons, superimposed upon physical reality, which reverberate out across the universe. To put it another way, we create energetic light with our emotions, like a pebble dropped into a pond and forming larger and larger concentric ripples as it echoes outward. Proactively owning our emotions, rather than falling victim to them and reacting unconsciously to the world, is key to cultivating a magical spirituality. We can create what ripples we want to leave in the universe. We will explore this in detail in Parts 1 and 2, which deal with the light side of experiencing energy and the shadow side of experiencing energy. Mapping the energetic signature of emotion as a primary communication and manifestation vehicle will be explored in Parts 3 and 4, which deal with passively and actively engaging with energy.

Waking up to the truth of energy can be scary. It can make your feel alone, delusional, and even crazy. Believe me, I’ve been there. But you are not alone. The Golden Sherpa is here to guide you. Let my words give you hope and inspiration as we journey together in this most exciting moment in the history of our planet and civilization. Our collective futures are incumbent on how quickly we get there, and from what I’ve seen, there are millions of souls right on the precipice of being able to ascend effortlessly into the realm of magical spirituality, where Spirit guides, supports, and loves us infinitely.

All of this, our physical reality, is but a dream. We can birth our own realities if we can remember that we are the dreamer and the dream does not possess us. Too often we lose track of this truth, and we find ourselves in our own self-created nightmares. We can dream a better reality for ourselves, and our planet, by remembering we are magical creatures, by reclaiming our magical heritage, and by cultivating a new magical spirituality. Let’s ascend!

    Part 1

    The Light of Energy

    1

    Is It Real?

T here are plenty of books out there articulating mysticism, magic, witchcraft, shamanism, mindfulness, yoga, and healing practices. On your spiritual journey, I hope you build your own private library of metaphysical texts, for one of the greatest perks of incarnating at this time in history is the wealth of information available. But, like so many other things, we can get lost in labels and specifics, failing to see how all these beautiful traditions and practices are interconnected, are bound by energy, and are accessible through magical spirituality. You are your own best guide to enlightenment, and it is only possible through reclaiming your magical heritage and embodying your unique aspect of divinity through magical spirituality. But in this book, I aim to help you along the way so you can start to see your own path opening before you.

Since the 1960s there has been talk and much investment from individuals and communities regarding the coming New Age, a more enlightened age where human beings evolve into more spiritual beings. Experiencing the echoes of the flower power movement in history books and the burgeoning New Age movement embodied by crystal work and angels as a child in the 1980s radically impacted my consciousness and how I saw the world. There was something familiar there, something I gravitated toward again and again throughout my life. It was exciting, truthful, and shone brighter in my vision than most anything else. The call that I heard, and that many other people can now feel like an ominous gong reverberating throughout our world, is the call toward a magical spirituality.

No matter if you are drawn to yoga or tarot cards, talking to the dead or talking to trees, there is a persistent doubt that plagues pioneering magical people. There is always the lingering question, Is it real? When I see an angel, when I talk to my animal guides, when I experience healing, when my future is read through tarot, when I bend into downward dog and align my physical and energetic systems, when the dead speak, when crystals hum, when we speak to animals—no matter the aspect of magical spirituality, there always seems to be a lingering doubt, a seed of discord that asks, Is it real? This is the most damaging shadow to magical spirituality, and one that should be addressed early and often in your practice, whatever your path might be. Even when we are intuitively guided to magical traditions, even when we experience energy through our subtle senses, everything about it is at odds with not only our scientific world but also our psychological culture. The New Age is about respecting the mind, but moving into a new way of thinking, heart thinking, and evolving into beings that can feel, sense, and know with amazing clarity. For the energetic cloud generated by our hearts is at least sixty times stronger than our minds² and our hearts possess the same types of cells found in our brains.

Our scientific culture, even alongside robust religiosity throughout the world, has posited since Sir Isaac Newton that we are all isolated bits of matter. Everything is separate from everything else. However, quantum physics and great thinkers like Einstein in the twentieth century showed us that everything is actually energy; matter is merely a shell, and when we look with high-powered microscopes, we find that energy is binding everything together and is interconnected. This discovery echoed teachings from spiritual traditions and mysticism stretching back into the ancient world, from the dream healers (and first doctors) of Ancient Greece to the practices of Native Americans and their reverence for the spirits dwelling within all creation. We needed our minds to develop scientific curiosity, but now that they have, we are being brought back to our ancient roots, to what we already knew historically and what our hearts already know to be true.

Our minds can block the path to our magical spirituality though. We can tell ourselves that what we sense and feel energetically is just our subconscious, or that we experience magical occurrences because our minds create the experience for us. We possess divinity, a unique spark, but this does not make us gods. With everything energetically connected, as defined by quantum physics, it is true that our minds can affect our environments, but this flow can also work in reverse—our environments, and even unseen energy, can affect us, perceived by our subtle senses, felt by our hearts, and baffling our minds. It is time to get out of our minds and get into our hearts, leaving the image of the reclining couch with the Austrian psychologist listening intently far behind. In the past. In another age.

    The result of our overthinking due to the age of psychology and our disbelief in our own magic because of the age of science has resulted in a dangerous cultural energy that connects us all: the belief that we live in an indifferent universe. Evidence of this energy can be seen everywhere in our popular culture, from fears of asteroids hitting the Earth to rampant greed and exploitation of millions of people in the name of profit. Slavery is not in our past;
