This is an adventure story told by Emma (an exotic green iguana) who lives in the lovely garden next to the pretty blue house belonging to my husband Peter and myself in The Cayman Islands in the Western Caribbean.

Emma tells us about her life and travels to Sri Lanka on a Mystery Magic Carpet Ride to collect Mandy (a mischievous purple-faced langur monkey).

Emma and Mandy continue on the Magic Carpet Ride to California to visit Marilyn, who lives at Muir Beach, and then continue to Muir Woods climb trees.
Emma and Mandy then continue to The Cayman Islands and Mandy returns home to Sri Lanka alone.

They have both travelled round the world on their Magic Carpet ride and had a wonderful trip.

Author: Tessa Judith Isbell (known as Judy) Born in Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Lives in the Cayman Islands. Educated in Sri Lanka and England. Travelled round the world, including the Far East, India, and Russia. Worked in many countries, including England, Switzerland, Canada, USA, Australia, and the Cayman Islands. Married to Peter John Isbell, architect, born in the Isles of Scilly, England. Two stepsons, Mark and Richard, and half brother Ben. Four stepgrandchildren, Kyla, Kane, Matthew, and Zachary. Illustrator: Josie Frazer Josie Frazer was born and raised in the Cayman Islands. She has been a lover of art from a young age and has had this love encouraged by her father, a high school art teacher. She spent three years in the northeast of England, gaining a BA (hons.) in fine art at Northumbria University and is currently furthering her education at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, where she is following in her mother’s footsteps by studying for a master of arts in teaching in special education. She continues to be an avid painter and intends to continue her artistic career along with a future teaching career.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CAYMAN ISLANDS

The CAYMAN ISLANDS are comprised of three small Islands, situated in the Western Caribbean Sea, south of CUBA, northwest of JAMAICA, and 430 miles south of Miami, Florida, U.S.A. GRAND CAYMAN is the largest and most inhabited; CAYMAN BRAC is the second largest, with an 140 ft. (43 meters) high ‘Bluff’; and LITTLE CAYMAN is the smallest. The Islands are the peaks of a massive underwater ridge, known as The Cayman Ridge. All three islands were formed by large coral heads. The land is mostly a low-lying limestone base surrounded by coral reefs. The Cayman Islands have a tropical marine climate, with a very hot wet season during the summer and a dry season in winter.

Christopher Columbus discovered The Islands in 1503 on his fourth voyage to the New World. He named them LAS TORTUGAS, due to the large amount of sea turtles. The first Englishman to visit the
