About the Author
Prelude
Many, years have passed since, the gates to the Ezidian Realm, were closed. It was said that one day the Haveltre, would once again be opened and 20 seals would be broken. That, on that day, two warriors would find the bravery to ward off the evil that protected the seals. For if the Haveltre should stay open, the world we know would be destroyed. That day has come…
Chapter 1
Destiny in a Box
Just, stop!
yelled Danielle! The twelve year old was doing homework, but having a hard time doing it with her, brother poking at her with a plastic sword. She slammed the book shut, jumped straight out of bed, and began to chase him, through the house.
They ran through the hall and down the steps. Danny ran past his mother, but she caught the dark haired girl, before she could reach her, irritating twin.
What is going, on?
She asked as she stood the girl up straight.
Upset, she yelled, I can’t get anything done because of him!
She pointed a finger at the tall, youth, who waved his sword at her and made a face. This enraged the girl and she lunged for the boy. He flinched, but Danielle has caught again by her mother.
Daniel, living room!
Their mother demanded and the boy ran, through the house. She turned to Danielle, Now, you little girl, need to calm down.
But, Mom, I never get any peace around here! He always does this!
I know, so come tell me and I will deal with, him.
The girl was still upset. She turned around and ran back up the steps. In a few moments, her mother could hear the door, slam, shut!
Mom walked through the house, where Danny was comfortably, relaxed watching television. She walked straight over and turned the T.V. off.
Danny raised straight up off of the couch, Mom!
He protested.
She crossed her arms, "I have had about enough of you, aggravating your sister. You’re going to need to apologize to her and then you can spend a day without television.
The young boy still protested, Come, on…
No, I mean it, Danny. She doesn’t like the way you treat her. I think that she’s been having some problems at school. So, kind of take it easy on her, how bout it?
Yeah, I guess.
He crossed his arms, upset that he would not be watching any television.
Thanks, babe.
She walked over and kissed him on the head. I have to go to work, now. Just remember what I said.
She gave him a serious look and he nodded in agreement.
She walked out of the door and left the two kids, until their father got home from work.
Danny sat on the couch for a few moments, but then he got up and went upstairs.
35211.pngSo, what should we do?
Danny asked as he lay back on his sister’s bed.
She walked over and shoved his feet off of the bed, For, starters, your getting off of my bed.
He sat up on the bed and put his face in his hands. Well, let’s play a game and I’ll leave you alone.
No.
She started picking up clothes out of her floor.
Come, on. I’m bored,
he pleaded.
Suddenly, she got an idea. She turned around and looked at him. She rolled her eyes, as if she didn’t really want to play, Oww, alright. Let’s play, um…how about hide and seek?
The boy looked at her, disappointed. That’s lame.
Never mind, then. I didn’t want to play, anyway.
She walked over and started picking things up out of her floor, again. She figured he would still take the bait.
He paused for a moment and thought about it. Quickly, he changed his mind, No, wait. I’ll play.
She smiled to herself, and then turned to face him, O.K. you hide and I’ll come and find you.
Alright!
The boy jumped up and ran out the door.
She walked over and threw the clothes in her hamper. She laughed to herself, "That, outta, keep him busy, for a while.
35213.pngDanny, looked around as fast as he could, for the best hiding spots. He ran to his bed room and jumped in the closet. He sat for, a moment, but decided that it was, too obvious. Quickly, he ran out of the door and started to go down stairs, but he noticed the attic. He knew that this would be full proof. She’d never look in the attic.
He searched the attic. There, were boxes and dust everywhere. He knew that if he could find a box, big enough to fit into, that she would never find him. He looked at all the boxes, but nothing seemed promising.
He decided he would hide in the left-hand corner, where some boxes were stacked. He figured if he got behind them, then maybe she wouldn’t look there.
He walked over to where the boxes, were stacked. He stopped. There was something, glowing in the corner. He forced his way, through. Finally, he was behind the stacks of boxes and what he saw, amazed him! Setting in the corner, behind the boxes, laid an antique box. It looked like a small treasure chest or, some kind of, jewelry box. He bent down on his knees and picked the box up. What made it so different was the gold, colored, light emitting from it.
He wanted to get up and show his sister, but he couldn’t. He didn’t know why, but all he wanted to do was look at it. He was mesmerized with the beautiful, craftsmanship. The blue trim and etched out shapes. He wondered what was inside.
35185.pngDanielle sat at her computer and checked her e-mail. Nothing,
she said, to herself. She shut the computer down and leaned back in her chair. She gave a sigh.
Suddenly, she rose up and remembered. Her brother! He’d been hiding for a while now and she wondered why he hadn’t come and found her. She figured he would be angry because she used the game as a way of getting him to leave her alone. It had been about an hour and she hadn’t heard a sound. That was unlike him.
She decided to go see what he had gotten into, now. She went downstairs and looked around the kitchen, but there was no sign of him. She checked the living room and bathroom, but still no Danny.
Finally, she checked his bedroom. She looked under the bed and searched the closet. She paused, wondering where he could have gone. Then, she thought about it. He’s outside!
He knew not to go outside when their parents wasn’t home. He was going to be in so much trouble. She walked out of his bedroom, but as she made her way down the hall, she glanced at the attic. She stopped and smiled to herself. She knew where he was, know.
She climbed the steps leading into the attic. She saw maneuvered past boxes and through cobwebs. She walked around the room, looking for signs of her immature brother. She couldn’t see anything, it was too, dark.
She turned to leave when she saw a beautiful,
