About this ebook
It is the story of Melvin, a small field mouse who lives in the English countryside.
He is very friendly with all the other small animals that live in the vicinity, rabbits, ducks, squirrels, badgers, birds, even fish.
Craving adventure; he seeks the help and advice from his older and wiser friends and undertakes a huge adventure for a small mouse, traveling by any method he can find from trains and cars to an airplane, he travels to America and finds a new life, having many adventures on the way.

I was born in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1939, educated to grammar school level, quite good at sports, representing Bradford at football and cricket. Served an apprenticeship as a draughtsman, and then moved to estimating. Spent 2 years in Australia and 28 years in South Africa, returning to England in 2010 where I live with my wife Elena. Having just retired and not knowing how to fill the days, she persuaded me to write my first book my life story ‘Jam Tomorrer’ If you believe the myth of Pegasus the horse with wings who gives one ideas and inspiration, then he has sat on my shoulder ever since as I wrote another book called ‘The Pure Magic of True Love’, followed by nine short stories for children. Seth the Salt Pot, Roger the Red Engine, Sid the Swallow, Melvin the Mouse, Benny the Beaver, Greg the Greyhound, Denis the Duck, Cedric the Salmon and Ernie the Elephant are my small adventure stories. My latest book called The Invisible Assassin has now been published, and I am in the process of writing another one of the same character. My wife and I enjoy visiting castles and museums; we love history, nature and animals, and when we are able, travel in Europe. I am into any sport played with a ball, and a Chelsea supporter of long standing. I enjoy reading, Wilbur Smith and Robert Ludlum are my favourite authors but if I pick up a book that I like, I will read until it is finished. I have a son and two grandchildren in England, and a daughter in South Africa. Elena has a daughter in Russia. My email address is ronald.haslam@yahoo.com

About the Author
Chapter One
H ello my name is Melvin, is it possible to build a small nest here please, I live on my own and I won’t cause any trouble
said the small field mouse to the large grey mouse.
"It is not up to me young one, as far as I know you just move in, build a nest, and fight for it if anyone tries to stop you.
That is what I have always done, my name is John and I will look after you".
