How I wish I could walk
In the land that you walked
To touch a pebble you touched
So long ago
A grain of sand
A blade of grass
To gaze upon the hills
That you gazed upon
One two or three days ago for you
And yet thousands of years ago for me
I yearn to feel the Wind
That touched your face
To see the clouds that
Hovered over you so many
Years ago
I wish to receive a
Blessing that is forever in the land
That you walked on so many
Many years ago
TEARS OF SADNESS
Jesus was apprehended
A sack was put on his head
He couldn’t see the blows coming
They reached inside and yanked his beard
They shoved him, they kicked him
Pulled the sack off long enough for a spit
He stumbled because he couldn’t see
They laughed and asked, aren’t you God
They took him to Pontius Pilate
To do their dirty work
Left him there to suffer more torment
Pilate was ready to oblige
They whipped him forty times minus one
Put a crown of thorns upon his head
Laughed and called him King
They dragged him to Pilate once again
Pilate could find no fault
The Jewish priests cried for his head
He made the people decide between a King and a thief
The people decided and betrayed a King
They hung him between two thieves
One took him into his heart
The other did not
People laughed and said what a King
Blood and sweat poured out of him
Down his body onto the ground
It wasn’t the beatings or the nails
