Claudette Francis

Claudette Francis (B. Ed, McGill University), entered the teaching profession in September 1954. For more than half a century, she challenged students to work hard and reach their God-given potential. Francis immigrated to Canada on Sunday July 20th the same day that astronauts landed to the moon. Living and teaching in Canada, gave her the opportunity to continue in her calling as an instructor of God’s Word. She made good use of drama to help students understand Biblical stories, and satisfy their hunger and thirst for spiritual nourishment. Francis is now retired from active classroom teaching. Nevertheless, she hopes that her deep faith in God and lively commitment to Jesus will continue to inspire God’s people, as she continues to do her part to fulfill Jesus’ commission: “Go into the entire world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.”

I am honoured to write this foreword for THE MYSTERY OF THE NATIVITY OF JESUS. There are two sections under which I will make my references.

In the first section, Claudette Francis' inspirational drama THE MYSTERY OF THE NATIVITY OF JESUS is commendable. She has shown her ability to intertwine the spiritual with the everyday occurrences and the tumultuous happenings of our daily lives. It was in her early childhood days that Claudette first began to conceptualize short plays for the catechetical summer school program in Guyana. From then onwards all her studies and her sensitive spiritual insight became her absorbing interest. She has perfected many collections such as THE MYSTERY OF THE RESURRECTION which is her inspirational drama on the RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST. I am sure that the fruits of her long and sanctified labours presented here in THE MYSTERY OF THE NATIVITY OF JESUS will serve to stretch, strengthen and deepen our faith in Jesus, the Son of God.
