God Loves a Lullaby: What God Hears When Our Hearts Cry Out
()
About this ebook
In God Loves a Lullaby, Jonathan Herst, himself a young father, examines the Father heart of God.
Just as a human parent responds to the cries and fears of his children, God hears our cries and anxieties. Jonathan Herst examines a full slate of our emotional issues desperation, regret, loneliness, anger, and many others, and contrasts our view of those feelings at the time, with Gods eternal point of view.
In this simple devotional, the author invites us to consider how God hears our prayers. Gods view, Jonathan reasons, is different than ours. Our prayers may seem like emotional desperation, but they are music to the ears of our Father, God.
Read on, and you too will find that God Loves a Lullaby.

Foreword
Anyone who has ever cared for a child knows a lullaby—a gentle song—can quiet and calm a child’s active spirit. As the children of God, our minds can also be full of distractions and worries and a full agenda that competes with God’s best for us.
In God Loves a Lullaby, Jonathan Herst, himself a young father, examines the Father heart of God.
Just as a human parent responds to the cries and fears of his children, God hears our cries and anxieties. Jonathan Herst examines a full slate of our emotional issues—desperation, regret, loneliness, anger, and many others, and contrasts our view of those feelings at the time, with God’s eternal point of view.
In this simple devotional, the author invites us to consider how God hears our prayers. God’s view, Jonathan reasons, is different than ours. Our prayers may seem like emotional desperation, but they are music to the ears of our Father, God.

A Lullaby
Bring to me your weariness.
Bring to me your tears.
Bring to me your loneliness, hopeless cares and afflictions.
Bring to me your fear, shame and regret.
Bring to me your malice, anger and rage.
Bring them all to Me.
For I care not in what manner you bring them.
I simply care that you . . . bring them.
Pour out your long sufferings to me.
Lay them at the foot of . . . the cross.
Pour out all of your miseries.
For all I hear are melodies.
You can sing to me your lullaby.
—Jonathan Herst
Preface
Too often I think just how amazing it is how we view God, in light of telling him all of our problems and struggles. Some see him as someone we bring our concerns to, and then hope for the best. Some bring their problems to him and really don’t believe that anything will happen, that is, in their favor. Some talk to God and think that if they have not committed any really large
sin lately that God will find more favor in answering their prayer because of that. Some talk to God truly believing that whatever he allows to transpire, that his perfect will manifested through this accomplishment will be achieved. And then, some believe that God does not want to hear our problems, and that he grows tired of our crying and aching hearts.
No matter what your view is of how God views our cries to him, the Bible is
