About this ebook

This is the fourth and final story of life on the Heber-Reno Sheep Trail. In this
book, Felipe, the foreman of Sheep Springs Sheep Company, introduces you to the men who come from Peru to work with the Dobson sheep. We learn about how the men live and work in the mountains, along the trail and in the winter deserts where the lambs are born. This book also includes a brief history of sheep in Arizona and the driveways used to walk the sheep 220 miles from winter pastures to summer grazing lands. The sheep walked the Heber-Reno Trail for the last time in the spring of 2011.

Cindy Shanks

Cindy is a retired primary teacher who spent thirty-six years sharing good literature with young children. She has published four books about an historic sheep trail in Arizona, a book about the wild horses of the Lower Salt River near Mesa, Arizona, a books of poems sharing her love for the seasons in the Arizona desert, and a book of poems about animal life in and near the ocean. This new book introduces you to Sammy, a newborn otter in Morro Bay, CA as he tells you about growing up and going out into the ocean with the skills he was taught by his mother. I hope you enjoy getting to know Sammy and his view of life in the ocean.
