About this ebook

My Tower is a collection of some of the poetry that came to me over a period of years, as I found them, jotted down on backs of envelopes, pages of textbooks, and other unexpected places.
Many of them were written during the years that "Greystone Castle's" was our home.
May you find solace in the universal experience of all, and may you find them a blessing to you, as they have been to me.

    Foreword

It would seem to me that life is like a tall ladder, reaching from birth to the end of one’s days on earth.

A young child, climbing each rung of the ladder, feels the victory that comes with a simple accomplishment. At times he will falter, perhaps fall, only to get up and try again, knowing the joy of achieving these skills and the knowledge of discovery.

As he continues to climb from rung to rung, throughout his lifetime, he will run into trials and tribulations, obstacles to overcome, avenues of discovery until at last he reaches the final rungs. Then, looking back, he can judge his growth with satisfaction or disappointment, a fulfillment or failure.

As I have grown older and pondered the existence of man, it would a seem to me that life is really a search for truth, a university of learning, reaching from Birth to the end of one’s days on
